This is also my fist Legend of Korra fic, and I apologize that it is so awful.

The firebender smiles lightly and removes his coat and tossing it onto the kitchen table as he makes his way toward his wife and child. Knealing in front of them, he shakes Korra's arm slightly, trying not to disturb the child that rests at her stomach and watches as his wife stirs swatting lazily at him without opening her eyes.
"Korra," he tries softly, brushing a few stray locks of her hair out of her face and tucking them gently behind her ear.
"Mako, go 'way..." the Avatar mumbles curling in on herself and her child slightly. Mako just smiles, shaking his head. Rising to his feet, he scoops the duo into his arms. He makes the short walk to their bedroom and, after a round with the door, manages to place them carefully into their plush bed.
"Night love," he mumbles against Korra's hair, his lips just brushing her forehead as he speaks. Shifting slightly toward the middle of the bed, he leans over his wife and places a light hand on her belly.
"And goodnight to you too, little one," he whispers, placing a light kiss to Korra's swollen belly before shucking off his uniform and sliding into bed next to them- though he knows he won't sleep.
He'll watch them.
Just like he always does.
As he lays awake watching them that night, his sleeping wife and unborn child, that he realizes, that he really is the luckiest man alive.
