Merry Christmas, Tori! I hope that you have a blessed day and that everything goes well. I hope that you like this character study turned familial bond story. It's hard to believe how fast the years go by. I'm really glad to have met you back on that roleplaying group a couple years ago now; you're an amazing friend, and I'm so happy to be able to talk to you or write you something, because you do deserve the best kind of work I can write. You've been there when things were difficult for me, and you've been there for the happiest times. I'm just so thankful for you; you're one of my best friends, and even though I don't always send a message to you, I'm still so happy when I do. These years are going by so fast now, and yet despite every hardship within them, I do have good things to look forward to. Thank you for being my friend, and I really hope that you enjoy this story that I've written for you.
Beneath the surface, there was always a bristling like the one massive wave to break the surf.
Emil's eyes flickered, gentle, calm.
He wasn't the sort for exaggeration or wild dramatics, just calm evaluation and occasional, bitter anger.
A light smile tickled his lips anyway, Mr. Puffin by his side.
Norway was just in front of him, and he was analyzing him like he always tended to; it was an annoying itch now that they knew they were brothers.
Did he act like that: manipulative to the extreme though not meant in that way?
Emil sighed; to him, they didn't look alike, didn't act nearly enough alike.
He sighed, hand nestled under his chin, playing an act of calm while his brother turned away from that annoying Dane.
Emil was more of a sudden storm than his older brother though Lukas certainly was the quiet before the storm takes over as he lets it when anger, genuinely takes over.
Emil, to his credit, only startles a small bit when Lukas turns to him and meets his eyes.
"What's caught you up?" Lukas's question startles him though he really should have expected it.
"Nothing." Emil can't help the stubborn pout now, more habit than anything by now.
Lukas rolls his eyes though his curiosity doesn't seem to fade.
Emil silently shakes it off; he doesn't mind the curiosity anymore though some days, it feels forced to hold it back.
Emil's eyes dip closed, and he's thankful that nothing seems to change since they know or not that much anyway.
Their own curiosities tug at their concentration often but don't erase the way they've always been.
