This is just a small one shot I made really quick when I had nothing else to do in France, so hope you like it! :)

There it was for the 100th time, raised towards her, in the hand of a desperate man who probably didn't know what he was doing, the thing that was a symbol of their relationship. Ever since the beginning he'd come with it because it reminded them of their first silly date where he'd told her he was in love with her. She cared for this man, this silly, stupid, clumsy man, but she hadn't seen him in a really long time and what this thing in his hand symbolized made her lose her breath. She didn't want this, she didn't ask for this. What he was doing was a mistake. Trying to go back to the past was a mistake. He loved his wife more than he'd ever loved her and she couldn't be with the man who had lost his wife, his wife who was the most lovely lady she'd known. She'd been a friend and it would be wrong to go back to him, the old best friend of her ex husband. Her ex husband she still loved after 14 years divorced. The man she heard coming up behind her, wrapping his arms around her. The feeling of his breath on her neck was an enough answer, he was the one for her and her good friend with the smurf penis in his hand had to realize she could not go back to him.

The look on his face when he discovered the man behind her was painful, but he eventually had to see it. Didn't he? Ted didn't seem to understand at first, but eventually put it down on the ground. He was invited in, so they could talk as long as he left it outside. After an hour he walked out of there, with Barney and Robin at the door in each other arms, saying farewell to him. He took it in his hands, so they didn't have to be bothered by it and its color. He walked in the rain realizing, the only thing that lead him here was the pain of her death. Just the thought of her and that he maybe was ready to date again lead him to the past. The past, he had to get rid of. He remembered it now, the important thing Robin once said, "You can't just run back to the past because it's familiar, yes, it's tempting, but it's a mistake." He had tears in his eyes. He felt stupid for even suggesting this idea of his, where he would end up happy with Robin again. He looked at it one last time, the thing that made him think of Robin, the symbol to their relationship, the messed up relationship, which ended over 20 years ago, but this symbol was still here and he had to get rid of it. He saw the garbage, which smelled bad like vomit. He couldn't stay here for long because the smell would probably kill him. So, he looked at it one more time before throwing it away, away from his and her life for good. The Blue French Horn.
