A/N- Inspired, I guess, by 2x…14? Houses of the Holy. Set around then, anyway.

I don't own anything... just like always...

Sam believed in a lot of things.

He believed in good and evil, that they weren't always clear-cut and that the world was made up of a million shades of a thousand different colours. He believed in God, in Heaven and Hell and angels, and he prayed for protection and guidance and safety and for Dean to smile once in a while.

He believed in the power of one person to change the world, and the power of the world to change one person. He believed in fate and destiny, but he also believed in luck and chance and free will. He believed in hope, in always looking forward and not getting dragged down by the demons of the past, in the big picture and the greater good. In living your own life and just trying to do your bit and give back to society and civilisation and the world.

He believed in books and science and learning. In always striving to know more than you did yesterday, and using that knowledge to help people. He believed in proof and he believed in evidence, but he also believed in gut feelings and intuition.

He believed in a lot of things.

And as for Dean, he just believed in Sam.
