Again I WARN you: slash pairing. Guy on Guy, whatever you call it. Don't read if you don't like. (But it's really not THAT bad) O.o Just Fluffy :D
Anywhoo, this was inspired randomly one day, after watching Prince Caspian (who'd've guessed!) It's very short and sweet, but don't take my word for it, read for yourselves ;D
*Disclaimer*: I don't own anything that has to do with Narnia, I have in my possession the books and movies, but that is where it ends.

The whole palace was full of high spirits; in fact the entire of Narnia had a reason to celebrate, so then why was the young prince suffering from such a heavy heart? He sat in the library, the one place he loved more than anywhere else in the castle; today must have been the first exception. He panned around the room at all the histories and fairytales. He remembered when it had all simply been a fairytale. The happiness for the whole of Narnia was worth this, but it would all be a waste if he messed up.
The prince sighed exasperated and allowed his head to fall into his arms on the cluttered study table. Worrisome thoughts were swirling in his head when he heard faint footsteps. He focused his attention on the sound, but didn't bother to raise his head. He waited for a few seconds before deciding that whoever it was decided to continue onward. So when the door knob began to turn his surprise was completely genuine. He waited for the familiar voice of his mentor, "There you are!" His head shop up, the voice was just as familiar, but belonged not to his mentor, but the High King.
He watched as Peter shut the door before walking towards him. He stood across from Caspian, hands rested on the table top. The prince dropped his head for a brief bow, but a hand caught him under his chin, "You don't bow to me, how many times have I told you?" the young king said looking at his face. Caspian looked away, unable to face him in his current state of mind. Peter immediately became concerned and walked around the side of the table to stand right next to the troubled prince. "What is it?" he asked gently.
After a moment Caspian looked Peter in the eyes and shook his head slightly. "I don't think I am ready," he confessed.
Peter remembered when he had said those exact words a year ago and knew how Caspian felt. He smiled gently placing his hand on Caspian's cheek, "It is for that reason I know you are ready." He stroked brunette hair away from Caspian's eyes and bent down to kiss his exposed forehead. "You will be fine, I promise," he whispered.
The young prince finally began to smile hearing this encouragement from his king. "Thank you," he said. Peter brought him to his feet and led him towards the door and they headed towards the coronation hall, hand in hand.

Honestly, this is how it was supposed to be (what you just read), But I have an alternate ending that I didn't want to taint the actual story with, so I'll post it below. Tell me what you think of the story, and which ending you prefer. Hope you enjoyed! (and yea, quotes straight from the movie, how lame) :P

***The young prince finally began to smile hearing this encouragement from his king. "Thank you," he said. Peter brought him to his feet and led him towards the door, but Peter stopped, one hand resting on the handle, the other around Caspian's neck, pulling him into a sweet kiss that Caspian absolutely melted into. Peter broke away first and they headed towards the coronation hall, hand in hand.
