"Marian, get out of the way!" he shouted, advancing towards her, swinging his sword.

"I would rather DIE than be with you, Guy of Gisborne!" She said triumphantly, almost grinning at him. Before she could make another move, say another word, his sword impaled her body.

It was now that Robin saw the horrific scene.

"Marian!" he screamed, running towards his beloved, who had collapsed into the sand.

Robin prayed silently that she would pull through, but when Djaq shook her head, he knew his prayers were in vain.

A few months later…

I hear you're asking all around
If I am anywhere to be found

"She was MY WIFE!" Robin shouted. Gisborne was so angry at the outlaw's words.

When Robin finally fell, hitting his head on a rock, he saw Marian.

And I learned to live, half-alive

Guy lifted the unconscious outlaw from the ground, after ripping the dog tag from his neck, and threw him over the edge of the cliff, into the river below.

Guy of Gisborne had killed his enemy. The one man who kept Marian away from him all those years.

Or so he thought.

Robin got lucky and was rescued, but he remained a broken man.

Guy was tired. The demons were clawing at his brain, eating away at him.

He knew he'd go to hell for what he'd done.

"Then stay there!" Robin said, angrily slashing Guy's face with the dagger.

Then Robin left, denying the guilt-ridden man his last and only wish.

Death.
