Hi, this is just a short one-shot I wrote a while ago and never decided to publish until now. It's based off of a true story that my friend told me where a similar thing happened to her. I decided to re-tell that story with Hetalia characters and this is my rendition of that story. Enjoy.

Emil sat on his bed eating an apple. His brother's boyfriend, Matthias was sitting next to him. The young boy was almost finished with his apple – in fact, he was right down to the core. In his next bite, he bit off a few of the apple seeds. He just decided to eat them along with the rest of the apple; after all, what harm could a few apple seeds do?

As he was about to get up to throw his apple core away, Matthias slung an arm around his shoulder. "Hey Emil," he said," Did you know that apple seeds are poisonous?"

Emil's eyes widened at this. He had eaten some apple seeds! "Really?" he asked, trying to play it cool even though he was secretly contemplating death and freaking out," That's cool… I guess."

With that, Emil stood up and walked out of the room and downstairs to the kitchen in order to throw the apple core away. He stood there for a few seconds before the thought came into his mind I'm going to die. The thought was strangely calm. He was willing to accept his death. He had lived a good eight years.

He walked over to the dining room table and sat down, waiting for death to come. As he sat, he contemplated life. He had come to terms with the fact he was going to die. Surprisingly, he wasn't scared at all. He was just willing to sit there for as long as it took for him to die.

Several hours later, Lukas, Emil's older brother, came home from work. He noticed Emil staring blankly at the table. "Emil, what are you doing?" Lukas queried.

Emil looked up from the table and at his brother," I'm going to die…" he whispered.

Lukas looked confused," Why do you think that?" he asked.

"… I… I ate apple seeds." Emil responded.

Lukas ran his hand down in his face in slight exasperation," So… you think that you're going to die because you ate a few apple seeds?"

Emil nodded," Matthias told me they were poisonous."

That made Lukas sigh. Of course Matthias would be involved in this somehow. "Emil," Lukas said, laying his hand on the eight-year-old's shoulder," You're not going to die from eating a few apple seeds; they would only be poisonous to you if ate a lot of them."

Emil stared at him, eyes widening in relief," Really?"

Lukas nodded," Yes. You're perfectly fine."

Lukas was going to be having a long chat with Matthias later…
