a/n: I feel like Bruce Banner has not been getting enough attention in between the whole Steve/Tony/Bucky conflict, so here it is, an interpretation of his most infamous line.
warning: there's suicide idealization, depression and self-loathing in general.
You want to kill me,
You want to, of course. For I am dangerous and unpredictable. For I pose an imminent threat that you cannot just dismiss that easily. You want to kill me, you have to.
But you can't.
Because here I am, standing firm, my stance as stong as a hundred-year-old tree. My power is immense, vicious, deadly. I am far too much for you to handle, let alone eliminate.
Trust me,
In the darkness of the night, when you were busy plotting your plans to ambush me, I am sitting alone in my bathtub, slitting my wrist over and over and over and over again to watch it heal anew. In the silence of the day, when you were lurking in the shadows, trying to find a loophole to strike, I am chunking the pills down my throat more and more and more and more and more only to have myself knocked out but still breathing.
I've tried.
fin.
