Friend to the Other
In the heat of the moment, two hearts were smashed
One of them got stuck back together with glue
One of them was tied up with string
The glue was white and the string was green,
And there were two pounds of sugar in everything.
In the cobbles, the rubble, the rope thrown with rough handling
The lobsters were not crabs, they were thrown back
The red and the blue fell into the maroon
The gamble was that of the almanac
So the competition was starting up all too soon,
But not for the young side, and not for the rich
And therefore, it was a perfect fit.
