Well, yet another story about Senjinn and Shira, I know. But this time, their son, Vancaru, is in it, and this is set after Senjinn dies, so be prepared to feel sorry for made-up characters.
Shira stood outside, watching the sunset. Her five-year-old son clung to her leg. He was silent, as if he understood his mother's pain. Shira smiled softly. It was this day, a year ago, she thought. Yes, a year ago, that she had received the news of her husband's death in the war against the Kaldar. A tear slid down her cheek as she picked up Vancaru, bringing the child inside to bed. It still amazed her that he looked so much like his dead father, Senjinn. Dark golden locks, but amber eyes like her own. She hugged him, placing him in his bed. Kissing his forehead, she went back out, just as the sun set in the west.
It grew darker, yet the full moon still shed light upon the woods. Cherry blossom petals twirled in the breeze as Shira walked into the glade. She stood still as petals twisted around her, catching in her pale golden hair, shimmering in the moon's radiance. And then she saw a ghostly figure standing in the trees, illuminated by the moonlight. She squinted, and when she saw who it was, tears began to pour down her pale cheeks.
Senjinn was smiling, his gray-green eyes glowing with love, his dark golden hair shining. Shira gasped. She ran forward into his warm embrace, the one she had missed so much.
"Shira…" She heard the gentle whisper in her ear.
"Oh, Senjinn, I've missed you so much." Shira murmered. Senjinn held her closer.
"Shira, I cannot stay. I just came to say good-bye." Shira pulled back to stare at the ghost of her husband. He closed his eyes sadly.
"I am a spirit, and I must go on in the afterlife." he said softly, "But remember, my love, I am always with you and Vancaru. I am your guardian angel, and I will continue to watch over you, forever."
Shira tried to speak, but Senjinn shook his head. He kissed her gently, and his body suddenly dissolved into petals, floating away in the breeze. And into that breeze, Shira whispered farewell to her guardian angel.
Well, it's finished. Senjinn (the author) won't like this story, but oh well. Also, ask him about Kaldar. *sighs* Please review, no one ever does these days.
