The world is a complicated place. It's sometimes hard to tell a friend from a foe. That's why we need to stick together. As long as we're together we have at least each other to trust. We'll hold each other up and never let either of us fall.
At least that's what I used to believe...

Ed's POV
.
"Is this is how it's going to end?" I thought as I struggled feebly, "Betrayed by my own brother?" I struggled again, giving out a small cry.
"Al, please," I yelled, hoping my brother would come to his senses. "Please don't do this!" My brother ignored me as he continued to pin me down to the bed.
"Al, hold him down," I heard her say. "I'm almost done." I twist my head to look over at her, but from the angle I was at I couldn't see what she was doing.
'I should have seen this coming,' I thought sadly. 'Al was too quiet when he came in. By the time I noticed that something was bothering him, she arrived holding it. Before I could escape, she told Al to pin me down. What did she say or do to make him betray me? Is she holding someone hostage? Or is it blackmail? Maybe she promised him something. I have to think fast!'
"Al, why are you doing this? Please tell me!" I cried out, struggling harder. If I was going to die, I was going to die fighting. My brother didn't even budge. I looked up at him, but he wouldn't meet my eyes.
"Please don't do this," I begged again. "Please don't betray me like this!"
"Betray?" she laughed. "He didn't betray you. He was on my side the whole time!"
"Is that true?" I gasped.
"I'm sorry, brother," Al apologized.
"No," I whispered. "No, you're lying!" I felt like crying but I fought it. I would not give my brother or her the satisfaction of seeing me cry.
"Alright, I'm done," she announced, coming over. "Hold him up."
"No," I gasped trying to get away from Al. She walked over and moved it towards me.
The second it touched me, I was on fire. I gasped for breath as my brother let me go. My brain went foggy as it started to take over. I struggled against its power, but I knew it was a losing battle. I felt myself falling farther and farther down into the abyss. The world slowly turned black as I took my last breath...

Narrator's POV
.
Ed collapsed on the bed and went still.
"Oh, give me a break!" Winry groaned, "It was just milk for goodness sake! Stop overreacting."
"Brother," Al said, "the doctor said you needed to drink more!"
"No," Ed groaned. "It's all over." Winry rolled her eyes and wacked Ed on the head with a wrench.
"Ow!" Ed yelled, rubbing his head, "What did you do that for?"
"Come on, brother!" Al said. "We're going to miss the train!" Ed shot his brother a hurt look and curled up in a ball.
"You're still mad, aren't you?" Al asked.
"You betrayed me!" Ed whimpered.
"Come on, Ed!" Winry said. "Was it even that bad?"
"I thought I was going to die!" Ed yelled.
"But don't you want to get taller?" Winry asked. Ed glared up at her.
"Come on, brother, we really need to make it to the train station." Ed just huffed and stormed out of the room.
"Fine, let's go then!" he yelled grumpily.
"He'll get over it," Winry said. "Anyways, be careful. I want to see you both back in one piece."
"Don't worry, Winry!" Al reassured her. "We'll be fine!" And with that, he ran out of the room after his brother.
