So, I know I shouldn't be starting another story, but I've had this idea for a couple days and I wanted to start it while the idea was still fresh in my head.
So, the idea for this came from two stories. One is Bl4ckhunters' when Hell freezes over, which is a great read. Another is a story I started a while back but couldn't finish called Call me Kara. I wasn't able to finish it because of the author's treatment of Oliver Queen that I couldn't stomach, but the premise is pretty interesting.
Anyway, this takes place post Flash season 2 except Barry never created Flashpoint, and just after season one of Supergirl except Mon-El's pod never crashed.
Star Labs, Earth-1
Night
Barry never knew it would end like this, he couldn't have known. But somehow, a voice in the back of his head that sounded suspiciously like Harrison Wells told him that he should have expected it. Another voice that sounded suspiciously like Oliver Queen told Barry he'd been naïve, expecting that there would never be any consequences for the constant Meta attacks on Central City. Zoom's invasion had probably just kicked started what would have happened years down the line. In the end, it didn't matter. All that mattered was that they needed to run.
Barry zipped up the duffle bag and threw it over his shoulder before looking back at Cisco and Caitlin, who also had duffle bags thrown over their shoulders.
"We need to go, now," Barry ordered.
"Where can we go Barry? Metas are public enemy number one now," Caitlin pointed out.
"On this earth," Barry said pointedly.
"I don't know about you, but Earth-2 didn't seem very fond of Metas to me," Cisco pointed out.
"I wasn't talking about Earth-2," Barry said and Cisco's eyes lit up.
"You wanna take us to that earth where you met this Supergirl, right?" Cisco said excitedly and Barry nodded.
"Barry, can you even run fast enough to open a breach with us?" Caitlin asked doubtfully.
"I have to try Cait. We're out of time," Barry said grimly.
At that moment, there were shouts as men in military uniforms burst in, armed with assault rifles that were aimed at the three of them.
"Get on your knees or we will shoot!" One of them barked.
Barry knew that even if they complied, they were as good as dead. Barry made a gestured like he was going to get down on his knees, and then made his move. Barry sped over, taking out several of the men as they opened fire. Barry dodged the bullets, punching a man and knocking him out before moving to knock out the rest of the guards. He stood around the unconscious men, allowing himself a moment of relief before he heard Cisco scream. Barry looked over and stared in horror.
Caitlin looked down at the wound in her abdomen, a bright red stain marring her blue shirt. She looked up at Barry and Cisco's horrified faces before her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she started falling. Barry snapped into action, speeding over and catching Caitlin before she hit the floor.
"What do we do?! What do we do?!" Cisco shouted, panicking.
"Only one thing we can do. We need to get to Kara's earth." Barry said, knowing no hospital on this earth would help her even if they wanted to.
Barry picked Caitlin up, grabbed Cisco by his arms, and sped out as fast as he could.
Kara's apartment, Earth-38
Night
Kara, Winn, Alex, J'onn, James, and Eliza were celebrating their defeat of Non and Indigo when, out of nowhere, a blue portal opened up in the middle of the kitchen. Everyone jumped up as a white, dark haired man sped through, holding a woman who was obviously injured in his arms and a Hispanic man around his age with longish hair. As the trio fell to their knees, Barry holding Caitlin, Kara recognized her friend.
"Barry?" Kara asked and Barry looked up at her, everyone taken back by the desperation in his eyes.
"Please, help us," Barry begged in a choked voice.
