Disclaimer: I do not own Vampire Knight

Yuuki wasn't one to get sick. And Zero dealt with things on his own as best he could. But Kaname, he was a different story all together. He'd caught a cold, and a very odd one at that, because he was a vampire, a pure blood no less. It was of great concern to all but most especially to Yuuki. She shirked her duties, skipped class and hurried to Kaname's side. He'd asked his friends not to let her in but they were no match for her and that witty knack of knowing just what to say. And so, she slipped inside, a small smile playing at her lips at the sight. Kaname was under the covers, a cloth on his forehead, his hair spread out across the pillow, his cheeks rosy. His dark eyes landed on her with disappointment, not in her but in his designated guards who'd let this trespasser enter. "Yuuki." He said softly, his voice was always like chocolate, soft and warm and made her feel happy. Even now, in its scratchy state, it had the same effect on her.

"Hello Kaname. I'm here to take care of you." She smiled as she walked over to him, holding her tray with a bowl of leek soup resting neatly atop it. "Are you hungry?" She asked as she put the tray down on the table beside his bed.

"Yes." He said softly.

"Here," She helped him sit up in bed, propping him up with pillows. "Eat." She said putting the tray on his lap. He looked at it for a few seconds before slowly and carefully eating it. She sat beside him, watching each bite carefully until he was done. Then she took the tray and put it out-of-the-way, and wet his cloth in cool water before returning it to his forehead. She gently helped him lay back down. "I guess that's it..." She looked out the window at the sun. "I'll come back later-" She was cut off by Kaname as he grabbed her and pulled her under the covers with him. He was radiating a lot of heat because of the fever and wasn't wearing a shirt. Yuuki knew that if he weren't sick he would have never allowed any of this but he was sick, so she cuddled closer to him and he sighed into her hair before descending his teeth onto her neck. She said nothing, did nothing, didn't fight back, didn't tell him to stop, just let him take what he wanted, what he needed. When he was done, he had blood running down his chin. She closer her eyes and rested her head on his chest.

"Why didn't you stop me?" Kaname asked.

"You said you were hungry." She smiled and laughed a little. He shut his eyes, he had in fact said it, and gently rested his head atop hers.

"I apologize." He whispered. "It seems the one person I love the most in the world is the one I hurt the most. That hurts me Yuuki. It makes me very sad." He said.

"Kaname..." She said softly as she looked up into his face. "I...I love you too and I'm okay being hurt by you. As long as you're okay being hurt by me." She said hesitantly.

"When you say you love me, it makes me very happy Yuuki. Please say it often." He smiled at her softly.

"I promise." Yuuki smiled.
