A/N: I always thought it would be funny if in "Football Crazy" Michael wasn't ordering flowers for Heather but someone else and that Robbie got the wrong idea. So, after watching the episode again, this little idea came to me. Although it did turn out shorter than I was intending. Hope you like! :)
PS: For the purposes of this story Brian does not exist (but, seriously, would anyone really miss him?)
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Flowers
"I hear you bought Heather flowers," Jackie stated without preamble, walking into Michael's kitchen.
Michael looked up from behind the kitchen counter with a guilty look, "I can explain."
Jackie sat down at the table and looked up at him expectantly, "I'm listening," she said, leaning back in her chair and crossing her arms.
"Robbie must have overheard me and gotten the wrong idea," Michael told her, hovering behind the counter, unsure as to whether he should approach her or not.
"I see and what did he overhear?" she asked, eyebrow raised.
"I was ordering flowers, in my office, on the phone, for you," he added, hoping the extra emphasis might get him out of trouble. "He must have heard me," Michael continued, deciding it was safe enough to join her at the table, "he's been dropping hints about flowers all week. I told him to stay out of my business," he added after a short pause.
"Why would he think that you'd want to send Heather flowers?" she asked.
Michael made an exasperated gesture with his hands, "Who knows? It's Robbie – does he ever think things through?"
A giggle escaped from Jackie before she could help it, giving Michael the courage to take her hand. "There really is no one else I'd send flowers to, you know that right?" he asked.
Jackie gave an exaggerated long suffering sigh before smiling at him, "I know."
Michael squeezed her hand, "Besides, do you know how expensive they are?" he asked with a wicked gleam, before ducking as Jackie hit him playfully with a nearby newspaper.
