Summary: Chaplin Burke talks to Ziva.

Talking and Listening

Ziva pulled her coat tighter as she sat outside the chapel. She had come outside for some fresh air and had ended up sitting on the co-existence bench outside the chapel. She let the cold November air attack her as it reminded her that she was alive. Not dead. Not numb.

"Agent David," a voice called from behind her, with one hand resting on her weapon, Ziva slowly turned and found herself facing Chaplin Burke. "Would you like to talk?"

Ziva's eyes shot up. Was she that transparent? Was it that obvious she was hurting?

"Just because you and I are from different religions, does not mean I cannot help you," Burke continued. "And I have contact details for some Rabbi's."

"The last time I was in a synagogue, I was involved in a fight," Ziva admitted slightly ashamed at her actions the year before.

Burke raised her eyebrows.

"I trust there is an interesting story behind it," Burke replied. Ziva nodded. Ziva opened her mouth but quickly closed it again. "But that's not what we are going to talk about."

"No," Ziva said shaking her head.

"Afghanistan," Burke offered.

"It affected me," Ziva admitted, "more than it should have."
