"I thought you hated snow," Sam said.
"I do. Mostly." Dean fiddled with the car's heater. "Except at Christmas."
Since when? "You hate Christmas too."
"I never said that!"
No he hadn't, but wasn't it obvious? Christmas was the worst unfulfilled holiday of their childhood, trod underfoot by disappointment and neglect, or worse— guilt. Being a Winchester was dangerous where conventions were concerned.
"So you don't?"
"No." Dean sounded sincere. The highway curved toward a grove of white-dusted trees. "See? It's perfect."
Up ahead, a café glowed brightly in the night. Sam could practically taste hot chocolate.
"Yeah." It is.
