The Tales of Elanor the Fair.

Prologue

Elanor was a young and fair hobbit maiden; some said that her beauty was likened to that of an elf because of her hair of golden sun, although she had never met an elf. She just listened with rapt attention to the stories her Father, Mayor Samwise Gamgee, told her and her brothers and sisters when they managed to persuade him.

She loved to hear about Lady Galadriel of Lothlorien, and the Lórien Elves. Lothlorien sounded such a beautiful place, full of wonderful enchantments. One of her favourite characters from the stories was the Mirkwood Elf prince; Legolas, a member of the Fellowship and from what she had heard, a very skilled archer, she hoped to meet him one day, as he had not yet passed to the Grey havens but had remained as lord of Ithilien.

She lived with her four brothers and four Sisters, and her Mother and Father in a beautiful house in Hobbiton. Her siblings were called; Frodo, he was twelve; Rose, she also had the same golden curls like her older sister, she was ten years old; Merry, named after Meriadoc Brandybuck who was master of Buckland and from what they had heard, quite a mischief maker in his younger days, Merry was much like him, he was eight and already a handful and took to running off annoying the neighbours with his younger brother Pippin; Pippin, named after Meriadoc's friend, Peregrin Took, the other mischief maker. Pippin loved going to see him; the aptly named Goldilocks, again because of her fair hair, many children born around this time seemed to be fair haired, she was only four; Hamfast, her youngest brother, being only three and not yet old enough to understand the stories, but they still soothed him to sleep; Daisy, who was two, and currently learning to scribble with a child's artistic licence; and finally Primrose, the new addition to the ever growing Gamgee family, she had not yet learned to form words and instead came out with a language of her own, understood it seemed by her doting mother.

Elanor loved her family dearly, but she wanted more than anything to explore the world of Elves, Trolls, and other beings, like her father had done. Samwise was very protective of his family, and told her that she couldn't leave the shire until she was at least of age. She wanted to meet lady Galadriel, Prince Legolas, Elestar and Master Gimli dearly; she hoped that one day she might.

Elanor is now fifteen years of age, and never tires of hearing all the stories her father tells her and her siblings about when the fellowship saved the whole of middle earth from the destruction and second darkness that the dark lord Sauron wished to bring about the land, it gave her great pride that her father had played a large part in saving the whole of middle earth.

Let me know what you think please.
