To Sea

On the day I went to sea

Not a hand could comfort me.

For even though my woes would end

I would still miss my best friend.

My dearest Sam I love you so

Your heart is golden and you have no woes.

I'm sorry I have to leave you behind

But my heart is too heavy, and it is my time.

I know you might not understand now

And I'm sorry that I could not take you with me some how.

But you must stay with your family through thick and thin

Till your bones are weary and your skin is thin.

My dearest Sam it's time for me to go.

The ship is leaving so I must get on with Bilbo.

But always remember the things I have said

And please come to me when your time is at an end.
