This is an extremely short Fanfic featuring one of the sweetest anime couples in the whole entire world: Athrun and Cagalli. Like I said, it's not that long. I hope you guys like the simplicity of this ff.

It was a beautiful evening. The stars were shining brightly and the ominous moon glimmered amidst the grey clouds. By the meadow sat two individuals. These two individuals were none other than Athrun Zala and Cagalli Athha. Cagalli was extremely fascinated with the dazzling night sky while Athrun couldn't help but look at her as she stared at the heavens.

The atmosphere was surrounded by total silence.

"The view is spectacular, isn't it?" remarked Cagalli, breaking the silence.

"Yes…I know." said Athrun breathlessly.

Cagalli turned to look at the incredibly dazed Athrun who was undoubtedly stunned by the blonde herself.

"Stop staring at me Athrun." said Cagalli.

Athrun was immediately snapped out of his trance.

"I wasn't staring at you." He replied defensively.

"Yes you were."

"No I wasn't."

"Yes you were."

"No I wasn't."

Cagalli heaved a sigh. Then she gave Athrun a questioning look.

"Athrun, can I ask you something?"

"Yes?" replied Athrun.

"Why do you like me?" asked the blonde.

"Do I have to answer that?" said Athrun.

"Come on. Tell me." insisted Cagalli. "Up until now, I still don't know why you like."

"You really want to know?" inquired Athrun.

"Yes…" then Cagalli paused for a second. "Unless it's going to be something shallow like, 'I like you because you're funny and attractive' then never mind."

"I was never going to say that." replied Athrun warily.

"What then?" Cagalli was growing impatient.

"I honestly don't know actually…" said Athrun.

Cagalli simply looked at him. There were a lot of emotions going through her right now. She was confused, disappointed, and a bit angry. Was Athrun just playing with her? Does Athrun really have any feelings for her?

Does Athrun even like her at all?!

"You don't know why you like me?" asked the blonde.

"Exactly." replied Athrun.

"What the hell?!" cried Cagalli. "You say you like me but you have no idea why you do?!"

"That's right." said Athrun calmly.

Cagalli was more confused than ever. Then she finally realizes something.

"Ahh…" she started. "I see. That's how you crazy coordinators like someone. You don't know why…"

"Cagalli…"

"What Athrun?" asked the already angry blonde.

"I told you that I didn't know…" started Athrun. "…Because somehow there's something about you that just feels right no matter how beautiful, smart, and charming you may be…"

"Huh?" asked the dumfounded Cagalli.

"In short, I love you not because of your amazing smile, or your gorgeous eyes, or your witty humor, or even that amazing intelligence and leadership skills of yours." said Athrun.

Then Athrun moved closer to Cagalli, so close in fact that it was as if they were only an inch or two apart.

"But because somehow I can just feel that it's right…" he ended in a gentle whisper.

The moment was perfect and just right. Just when Athrun was about to make a move, Cagalli suddenly ruined the moment.

"So you like me because your insane sixth sense told you?!" remarked Cagalli.

Athrun simply chuckled. Cagalli never failed to amuse him. Somehow, whenever Athrun's day was going bad, he counted on Cagalli to bring a smile to his face. That was how special she was.

And he wants her to know that.

"Like I said, I just don't know…" he punctuated his sentence by leaning over and capturing Cagalli's lips with his very own.

'I love you too Athrun' though Cagalli. 'And like you, I also don't know…'
