Ryuba woke up the day after his 15th birthday. Most of his friends were there; Takezo, Mizuki, Kazuki, and so on. The only thing weird was that he could've sworn he saw something floating in the sky. It looked like a giant snake. It kept Ryuba wondering the whole day. He couldn't even sleep. He finally fell asleep around three AM. He woke up in the after noon and was running late, "I gotta get to school!" He yelled while getting his jacket on. He grabbed his money and ran out of the house. "Wait! You forgot your Kendo Stick!" His mom yelled after him.
Ryuba got to the school an hour late and had to wait outside of Kendo Class. He sat for 10 minutes looking up into the sky. His friend Kazuki came up to him asking if he was bored. "Isnt it obvious? I'm stuck out here because of some stupid floating thingy." Ryuba replied.
"Floating thingy? Are you sure it wasn't an airplane? Or a bird," Kazuki said to amuse himself. "If it wasn't one of those maybe you're just crazy in the head?"
Ryuba looked up at him with a grin. "Maybe I am crazy? How would you feel to be friends with a crazy person? Would it make you go crazy as well?" Ryuba was asking him.
Kazuki just looked in the sky. "Well, you know me. I stick with my friends until the end. Even if they're dead; and I'm not. Hey, what if what you saw wasn't a plane? What if it was some creature from another world? What would you do about that?" Kazuki questioned Ryuba.
Ryuba had to think for a while. "I would say that I would find it and kill it… even if it was nice. My granddad once told me a story about things called Hallows. He said they were horrible monsters that fed on human souls. He even told me that there were people that killed Hallows. He said they were called Shinigami. They wore black kimonos and had a special sword called a zanpaktou. It "activated" with the user and transformed into a one of a kind weapon. My granddad told me that if I train hard enough, that I might become a shinigami one day. That's why I've been taking this Kendo class." Ryuba explained.
Kazuki looked at him like he was some stranger. "You expect me to believe a story like that? I'm surprised you believed it! Everyone in this school knows that your grand father tells lies. Hell! He even tried to make some people believe that he knows some Quincy! Your grand father is nothing but a freak!" Kazuki was saying meanly.
Ryuba got up and walked away. "If that's how you feel, then you truly, have no imagination." Ryuba said as he walked away.
Suddenly a big explosion crashed down onto the ground in between them. Kazuki went flying and hit his head on the wall. Ryuba was blown away but landed o something soft. He got up and was looking at the spot o the impact. There was a huge dent in the ground, which looked like it was caused by a meteor. Ryuba was running towards the spot when something hit him hard. He went flying back to the spot he landed before. This time when he got up he was a snake like figure in the crater. It had a white mask on! He knew what it was it was a hallow! He ran into the class and grabbed a bamboo sword. He was getting yelled at as he ran out.
Ryuba jumped up at the hallow and slashed at it. The hallow jumped into the air and slammed its head down onto Ryuba. He jumped out of the way just in time. He jumped back at it hitting it in the mask. Nothing happened. "This thing won't go down!" he screamed.
Then a person in a black Kimono came out of no where and quickly destroyed the hallow. Ryuba looked at the shinigami. "Who're you?" He asked.
"I am… Rukia Kuchiki, how is Ichigo?"
