It's All In Your Hands
By Akima34

Disclaimer: I don't own Titan A.E.. 20th Century Fox does, and if they have a problem with me using their characters, they can't sue me anyway, I'm a minor. So there. :p

Rating: PG

Warning: As surprising as it probably is, I've actually never seen Titan A.E. Unfortunatly, (sp, I know) it was out of theaters by the time I had any time to go to the movies. I'm going on guesswork here, plus this is my first Titan A.E. fic, so if it sucks, you know why. (LOL) Any constructive critique is welcome and appreciated.

Here we go!

Akima sighed and looked out the window. It had been a very long and boring day; Stith and Preed had only gotten into three arguments, and there hadn't been any dangers Korso had reported. Which was good, in a way, but still, she wanted something to do.

After attempting to read in her room for a while, she decided to check out what Cale was doing. She went to his room and knocked on the door.

"Who is it?"

"It's Akima."

"Oh, OK. Come in."

Akima walked in the room. Cale was sitting on his bed, puzzling over the map that was inside his hand.

"Still trying to figure that out, huh?" Akima asked, plopping next to Cale on his bed.

"Yeah. It's pretty weird, you know?" Cale said, looking over at her.

"What? The fact that it's inside your hand? Or can you read the map?"

"Very funny."

"Sorry."

"It's just that it's amazing that the key to where humanity's new home could be is all inside my hand. I guess it's kind of scary."

"But it also kind of gives you a feeling of power, doesn't it?"

"I guess so. Is that a good thing?"

"If you use the power the right way."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean power can be a good thing and a bad thing. If you have the power to give humanity a new home, another chance, and you help them out, get them adjusted, maybe even get them to become allies with entirely different species, that would be using it the right way. But you also have to remember that too much power can be a bad thing. Look at what Hitler did. He used his power to try and destroy several groups of people just because of their races. He tried to gain world domination."

"And that would be using it the wrong way."

"You catch on fast."

"Thank you."

Suddenly, a loud, resounding crash came from outside the door, followed by the sound of running footsteps down the hall.

"Preed! You idiot! Where the Hell are you? I'll kill you! I'll murder you!"

Akima and Cale looked at each other for a second, then burst out laughing.

"And there's number four," Akima said, shaking her head. "We'd better go break it up before Stith does anything serious."

"Yeah. Come on, let's go."

They ran out of the room together.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Okay, I told you this would suck. Whaddaya gonna do. I told you I'd never seen the movie. Please tell me what you hated, what I did wrong, and what I should do in the next fic. Don't hold back. (Of course, if you liked it, tell me that too. J)
