Merlin was rarely given time off, and thus it was unsurprising to Arthur that his servant took advantage to be outside on such a glorious day. The boy was fast asleep, head pillowed on an open book. Arthur hadn't been looking for him, but apparently they shared the same favorite spot for soaking up spring sunshine.

Arthur considered letting him alone to sleep, but preferred the company and settled next to him on the grass. When Merlin stirred, turning bleary eyes toward him, the prince smiled and decided not to tell him half a paragraph had transferred onto his cheek.
