Author's Note: Read into it too deeply and you'll break your brain. Somewhat TWT…is that abbreviation even still used anymore?! (Not old, not old, not old...) Also, I hatehatehate the last lines.
"I just don't get it! Why do you wear that blindfold even in your real form?! I get that you wanted to hide your eyes in that other form, but…what's the point now?!" Sora cried in frustration, attempting to scowl at his best friend. It came out more as a pout.
Riku considered for a moment then leaned forward. "You want to know the truth?" Sora nodded, leaning in as well. Riku lifted his head briefly to check for listeners, despite their being alone and the cloth over his eyes. Sora wondered if Riku would ever loose his drama queen streak. He doubted it.
"It doubles my 'badass' level." Riku seemed entirely serious to Sora, but then again, Sora had a tendency to take what Riku said about life and Santa at face value. He stared amazed as an idea formed.
Through the pain, Sora could hear laughter. Before he could retort indignantly he tripped over—something—again. A strong grip steadied him, but relief was short lived. Humiliation had come in the form of his best friend. Sora was pretty sure Kairi was somewhere out there too.
Riku's smooth voice snapped Sora from his daze, which thankfully no one could see because of the blindfold that adorned the brunette's face. Not that he'd have needed to daze off in the first place if for once he'd just listened to common sense or Kairi instead of Riku.
"There is one thing I forgot to mention. It only works if you're a pretty boy with angst issues searching for redemption—or something like that." The white haired pretty boy rolled his solders in a careless shrug that the shorter boy knew was more amused then apologetic. Riku wondered how his friend could possibly get himself into as many awkward situations as he did.
Sora knew none of the cloaked boy's thoughts, but he could hardly look more outraged or ridiculous anyway. "I can be badass and angsty, too!" He struck a pose. The giggling began again. Yeah, Kairi was definitely watching.
A badly stifled snort came from his left. "No, Sora, you can't. Especially in that…outfit."
"Well…at least I can ride a Gummi ship!" With a hmph! Sora turned and walked off. This time, at least, he didn't trip over an object he couldn't see. Instead, it was the memory of "the face". Runs on happy faces indeed.
