Life's Pawn
I remember the day so clearly
So very clearly you see
For that was the day my life ended
The day you were taken from me
It had started out a normal day
Until we had bumped into him
A digimon we thought we had deleted
Was about to make my life turn very grim
For the digimon was Pidemon
Very powerful indeed
"Digivolve!" I commanded
And the digimon did so with speed
But the digimon weren't enough
They were so very tired
Pidemon defeated them easily
And with great aim he fired
He shot out his Trump Swords
Aiming straight at you
I tried to protect you, really I did
But I got to you minutes too few (A/N Does that even rhyme? I thought it sounded right)
The attack had hit
And you screamed out in pain
As you fell to the ground
And I knew I was the last of my parent's children to remain
I ran over to you
Ignoring the fight
And tried to wake you up
To bring back your light
But nothing I did worked
Joe, the 'doctor' declared you dead
A piece of me died with you
A piece of my heart that your light had fed
So with new conviction I faced Pidemon
And with my digimon's help he was deleted
But the fact that he was gone
Didn't distroy the death he created (A/N I don't think that rhymed either!)
'Why me?' I had asked
After we had returned
'Why couldn't I have gone instead of you,
You who had so much you could've learned!
You were only 8 years of age
Very innocent and young
'I'm gonna live forever!'
You had always sung
But how wrong you were
To assume the best
Cause like I've learned
Life always puts you to the test
I went to your funeral
Where everyone cried
Especially me
I felt like I had died
So now I sit here
A year after you've been gone
Why did it have to be you?
Who turned out to life's little pawn?
I remember the day so clearly
So very clearly you see
