"You know I'd die for you, but sometimes it's so hard living with you"
Those were his parting words. He had punctuated the feeling with a slamming door. She remained in her seat behind her desk, unsure as to how a simple factual statement had escalated so beyond control. She didn't really care how it got done, as long as ti got done, and the sooner the better. Why can't he just see that and move on with life?

"I couldn't help overhearing. I had my ear pressed to the door."
Those were the words she used upon entering. The revelation didn't surprise her. She knew the other woman's intuition was sharp and accurate, but she had a hard time believing that all the inner "know-how" her friend possesed came to her just by means of intuition. What she did have, however, was an unnerving kack for being by the right door at the worst possible time. No secret was safe around her, and sometimes the scientist wondered how being so different they could relate to each other so well.

"Come back in an hour. I'll be crazy by then"
Those were the words she used to end their conversation. She knew they wouldn't ask ask questions, even if they were curious. The youngest one would probably ponder on what she meant by those words, since her actually turning crazy with such a precise time frame was virtually impossible. The older one would surely think it was all part of a government cover-up and therefore they'd never be told the truth. Either that, or the good ole doctor was taking some very personal time in the middle of a working day. She thought he'd never know just how close to the truth he was, as she closed the bathroom door behind her and turned to face her very naked lover waiting for her.
