The case had ended, the unsub had been caught and the entire team should have been on their way home.

Unfortunately the weather had other ideas. The ski lodge where they'd caught the unsub was surrounded by a foot and a half of snow by the time they'd send the unsub and were preparing to head home. The airport was closed soon after that and it was clear they weren't going anywhere that night.

And, to continue their lucky streak there were only three rooms left in the entire place. Two rooms for the girls and one room for the guys. Of course he could have just told the team the truth and spent the night curled up with his girlfriend, but Penelope still wasn't ready for this.

So he was spending the weekend at a ski lodge, without skis (they were all rented out) without a television, on a cot and with his untouchable girlfriend one wall away.

This really sucks.

"This sucks," he said, tossing the cards on the table.

"Don't be a sore loser," Prentiss told him as she laid down gin, "It's not my fault I'm better at this than any of you."

Hotch and Reid groaned as they lost again. J.J. and Garcia just smiled as Garcia continued playing online poker.

"You doing good, baby girl?" he asked her, wanting to hear her voice.

"I'm up almost 1,000 in each game."

"Each?" Reid asked, "How many are you playing?"

"Three…oh 1,500 in this one, they really don't like me there."

He shook his head, leave it to his girl to kick even anonymous ass.

After he lost another round, this time of go fish, to Prentiss he tossed the cards down and his hands up, "That's it, I'm sick of this. I'm going outside."

Pen's head snapped around, "Gorgeous its freezing and snowing out there."

"Yes it is, perfect for a little snow ball fight, you in?" he asked, grabbing his coat.

"Uh no," she said, "I think I'll stay here in my nice warm room and beat some people at poker."

"Fine, if you're too scared…." He draws out the last word and sure enough his girl turns and glares at him.

"Excuse me, I am not scared of a little snow ball."

"Well then," he says, reaching for the door, "See you outside."

He's hoping she gets the hint, that maybe he can steal some time alone with her, but instead of her coming out alone she drags JJ, Prentiss, Reid, and even Hotch. Before he knows it they've got a girls versus boys thing going on and he's trying to dodge Prentiss' throws while JJ distracts Reid so Penelope can hit him.

Hotch eventually gives up and he and Reid head inside. JJ and Prentiss walk off to celebrate their victory and he, quite accidentally, ends up alone with Penelope.

"Hey there baby girl, want to take a walk with me?"

Penelope smiled, "Its freezing cold?" she argued, but moved closer to him.

"Well then, I'll just have to keep you warm," he slid his arm around hers and tugged her away from the front of the building.

Maybe getting stuck here didn't suck as much as he thought.
