Notes: This is the wrap-up of the Book of Affairs, because stuff has consequences. Just like me forgetting I have a certification exam this Saturday I haven't studied for, so I'll be quiet until weekend, when I start publishing the requests!
Stats: This is a long list, but the requests stay at: 3000 words for EmmerynGangrel (they're so popular, eh?), the Einherjar sets: 1500 MarthRobin and 1000 LynRobin (rereading the Innes request, can the requester clarify if ChercheInnes or each with Robin? Thanks!), the bonus for guessing right EmmerynYen'fay has 1000 words, and the OMG pairings of RobinRobin at 500 and RobinMorgan at 1000.
...and continuing on a new paragraph, this is long, 500 for all of the following: Lon'quLissa, SumiaChrom, Lon'quRobin, RobinTiki, TikiPriam, Lon'quOlivia, EmmerynPriam, AversaLon'qu, ChromFrederick, KellamPanne, TikiWalhart, RobinWalhart (Lon'qu is popular too!). 1000 words for SumiaRobin, and done!
Lucina had sneaked into the castle at Ylisstol as a servant, she remembered it well. She had dyed her hair and become a maid to her own mother, Queen Normina, to protect her and ensure she was happy. She had been there, in the background doing some cleaning, when...
"Chrom, I'm pregnant. We're going to be parents!" the queen exclaimed as her husband entered the room.
He went to her and hugged her with so much affection, "Really? I'm happy to hear that. Are you well now?"
Their daughter in disguise had smiled with her back to them, remembering the mess due to morning sickness and the panic of the healers as they rushed in to tend to their king's wife. All she wanted was to just turn around and see them there, so joyous together, but she had known that if she had tried that, she'd have ended up blowing her cover, so she didn't...
And when she told Chrom what she had witnessed, as the Shepherds marched back to Ylisse, he looked so guilty, trying not to sneak glances at Robin and Morgan some paces away from him and his daughter. Lucina sighed in exasperation, herself trying not to glare at the two tacticians.
"You are an idiot," she whispered at her father. "My mother loves you. But look at who you did! ...I mean, what you did," she blushed, looking down at her feet.
"I know," Chrom admitted. "I shouldn't have done that." He still had.
And going by how Robin darted away on being offered bear jerky by Lucina's half-brother, there were going to be consequences. The pale haired woman was as distressed as Normina had been back then. Except this was evening sickness, if strictly named. And there had been no shared joyful hug between the Plegian princess and the Ylissean king...
Lucina's eyes filled with tears. "Don't you love my mother?"
Her father sighed sadly. And her heart sunk to her feet when he shook his head.
"Why did you marry her, then? And have me with her?" she cried out.
The Shepherds heard and scattered. Nobody had dared to discuss this issue about how their king had cheated on their queen just yet, the cowards!
Chrom looked down at his daughter. "You are not a mistake. You are my child, I love you."
"But mother was a mistake?"
He nodded. "I knew that marrying under advice, instead of following my heart, would cause problems. But I still went and married Normina." He averted his eyes in shame. "Now I have hurt her, and she doesn't know yet. But I'll come clean about this issue. I owe her that much."
Lucina was sobbing. Everything was so wrong, but at least her father was going to do the right thing...
"Who advised you? And who did you love when you married mother?"
"Robin. And Robin, too," Chrom confessed, "but she didn't notice."
The Exalted princess facepalmed. Of course it had been the tactician all along!
