As the clocks keep ticking and the world keeps changing, I am all alone, looking through the bars. My name is Anji Carrie Watts, I am 13 years old, I never knew my family and I am a pale shadow, or in other words killed against my will. I grew up in the care of druids and this is how I departed from the land of the living and arrived in death.

I was born on the 8th December 1346. I was not screaming nor crying like new born babies do but my heart was not beating either. They could not get it to start. My mother told a man to journey with me to the caves of Sheldon and ask the druids to save my life. My mother could not do this as her heart was slowing down; eventually it stopped. So I was taken to the druids and cared for there. My mother realized that she would be risking my future as magic was forbidden in the kingdom but she had no choice.

As I grew older the druids taught me magic but, as magic was forbidden we had to keep moving around the lands of Ravenlot. On my 13th birthday half of the druid order, who went out had been captured and killed by the king the rest of the order were shocked and determined that no such thing would happen again. But one day a young druid, a few years older than me went out for food he was captured by the daily patrol of the king. We all decided that no man is left behind. So we travelled to the kingdom, I was ordered to stay at the gates hidden while they all went in the castle. I was waiting for a long time when I heard the warning bell ring. A patrol of palace guards marched past, they saw me. The palace guards ran round and grabbed me by the arms. Even though I am a child they treated me like an adult. They brought me before the king and forced me to kneel; I started to cry. The king stood up from his chair and shouted, "Stop crying you betrayer". The prince stood up to his father and , "Calm down she is just a child". But the king replied and said "she is still a druid, an enemy of the crown Christopher". He addressed me and said, "You shall be executed with the rest of your order, take her away". He waved forward the guards and they dragged me away. I was pleading to Christopher but the guards restrained me and took me out. I knew that the next day I would be killed. As I watched out of the bars I saw a beheading station. I knew that I would be killed all alone. I went to sleep early and awoke early. I was taken out from the cell, blindfolded and brought to my death. My last view was behind bars.
