"So how'd you explain it then. You, out of all of us, look slightly different?"

Jay looked confused, curiosity getting the better of him as he stared in the mirror in his bedroom. "What, is it the freckles? Heh, I've always had them ya know, maybe I used concealer before Krux and Acronix stuffed up the time lines." A shrug of nonchalance ensued, it was no biggie after all.

The raven haired man looked again, perplexed and shaking his head slightly. It was more than that, bigger, more noticeable so why couldn't he pinpoint it precisely, Jay was his best friend, gosh darn it.

"No, that's not it." Cole shook his head, a frown still in place while he observed his best friends' face, trying to fit the missing piece to this puzzle that was Jay's pale freckled face.

"Y'Know, living with my mom and dad in the desert kinda made these freckles stand out more. It's the melatonin, the sun makes them worse. Seriously the hotter and sunnier it got the more I'd get, and I hated them, the freckles I mean, especially when I was younger. Haa, I covered them up for a while, but now, they've grown on me...haa, you get it?"

Cole deadpanned at Jay's attempt at humour, that was one thing that hadn't changed, nor had it got worse. Shaking his head somewhat. "It was something to do with your face, your eyes specifically. I mean Kai, kinda looks the same with his battle scars and whatnot, but you, hmm?"

Jay had finished primping and preening himself enough to leave Cole standing there looking awkward as he made the finishing touches to his gi. "You coming to get some breakfast then, or are you gonna stare at me like I'm a science project gone wrong?"

Cole stilled as he scrutinised every part of Jay's face, until his eyes met Jay's startling blue ones. "OMG, first spinjitzu master. Jay, it's your eyebrow, there's no scar there anymore?"

Jay let out a small sigh, he shook his head laughing softly. "I never told you did I, that was a fashion thing I did when I was a teenager. It was all the rage, to shave a nick into the eyebrow, Haa some kids did it in the hair line too, y'know, just behind their ears with well known brands? Well, before all of this happened, my previous self thought it was a good idea to follow the same fashion statement. Guess the whole paradox thing made me realise it was childish."

"Huh?"

Jay paused halfway through the door. "What you don't remember that phase? Honestly, I hate the time twins for messing with the past like this, it makes everything seem so much more confusing." He shook his head, fastening his royal blue sash tighter. "Anomalies with the past and all the unexplained stuff we went through that bears no semblance on the here and now? Y'know Zane would be better explaining it, right? Because I can see you're just getting confused with what I'm saying."

"Sorry, it's just jumbled timelines. Not really had any time to process what's been happening to us as a team because we've been so focused and busy with finding Wu. I am following what you're saying, honestly Jay. I reckon speaking to Zane would make it worse, unless he could explain it in Layman's terms."

"Well, breakfast then? You coming or are you gonna stay here and wistfully think about how things were before the shit hit the fan? Come on Cole, Zane's waiting for us in the kitchen, Lloyd's patrolling the city with Nya and Kai, so the food in the kitchen is pretty much ours."
