Mulder walked in through the revolving glass doors at the FBI headquarters entrance marveling at how he managed to not get stuck this time. Now if he could avoid Skinner this early in the morning on the way down to the dungeon that was his office he might be able to face Scully with a little dignity. He was supposed to have been there at four thirty and it was currently going on six am. He was sneaking around a corner to the elevators briefcase in one hand and several coffees in one of the cardboard beverage holders balanced on the other, keys deftly in his mouth when he bumped into his boss. His boss cocked an eyebrow at him.

"Well" the man said "you remembered to bring offerings to the demon." Mulder just nodded, even Skinner had accepted that Scully was not a morning person, but only after almost a year of fighting. "You realize, of course, there is a reason you were expected to get up this early?" Mulder was considering attempting a shrug, but his coffee wobbled so he decided against that and settled for a shake. Skinner just sighed an walked off. Mulder blinked and preformed what the lone gunmen called the head tilt and stare. Then shook his head and managed to push the down button on the elevator.

He encountered a problem when he actually managed to get to their offices. He couldn't open the door. He tapped on the door with his foot hoping Scully wasn't so mad that she'd left the office. The door opened ominously and he thrust the coffee through the door first. He waited till he felt the weight of the coffee disappear and wondered if he'd get his back. Mulder went through the door took one look at his partner and winced. He wasn't going to get his coffee back. He set his braincase down on the floor by his desk and looked at the paperwork on his desk and then at Scully's which was conspicuously devoid of anything. Punishment for being late.

" Whats up?" He asked siting at his desk eyeing the paperwork like it would bite him.

"We have an x-file" Scully said leaning back in the chair. "A report of a pack of werewolves up in a small town, which coincides with reports of odd maulings by a humanoid... something. I only mentioned the werewolves to get your attention by the way." She said seeing his head perk up as he was gently removing a fivefold off the stack. "It's tedious, Mulder, not dangerous."

"Until it literally bores you to death." came the reply.

Scully rolled her eyes. "Anyway, the town is called Wolf Mountain and I figure its just some kids playing a joke off the name. As for the maulings I have the photo's and I suspect it's really just some sort of cat lose from a zoo or personal collections no one's reported so they don't get fined. Finish quickly or you have to take them on the plane. It leaves in an hour."
