Well then, I don't have much to say. It's a one-shot over FMA's soldiers. Havoc, Riza and Roy are getting ready for their last mission, based on the manga, so yeah, they're not supposed to have mission anymore, but let us guess as if they had one mission left. A mission that would gave them the chance to turn everything upside down and to save their country. Riza/Havoc centric, even if I'm a fan of Royai stories… Anyway, read and enjoy!

Let's be soldiers for the last time

He looked at her in silence. There was nothing to be said. They were waiting for their boss as always. There was still work to do and it wasn't break time already. But they had a new mission. A special order. One last order. Havoc felt uneasy. He needed a cigarette. Hawkeye waited next to him, her eagle eyes looking right through the building's door. He was there. They were waiting for him, as always, but maybe for the last time. For the last mission.

The last fuhrer was a homunculus. They were going to defeat him at last. At long last. Havoc would drag his son and wife away, doing diversion. Hawkeye would kill some guards so that the colonel could get through and fight Bradley. It would be all. Havoc had the easy part. But he was more nervous for this mission than for any other. And he didn't knew the worst. Only Riza knew. She couldn't let him go without a warning. She would have gave her life for him if she didn't have to protect Mustang. But she loved both of them. Like brothers. Live lovers. Even if nothing would ever happen.

"Jean?" she asked, with a shaky voice. "Could you…give me a hug?"

"What?"

Her eyes were serious, so he obeyed, still stunned by her demand. He took her in his arms, to be hugged back by the young woman. Havoc could smell her fear, her impatience and felt her shaking. She was going to tell him a truth that could have her killed. But if she remained silent, Jean would be the one to die. As they were both holding on each other to exchange their strength and courage, she told him. In his ear, her lips brushing his skin with a voice so frail that none other, even a chimera, couldn't get to hear. Jean raised an eyebrow.

"Selim is a homunculus."

They parted form each other. The space between them grew bigger and it felt as they would never come to see each other again. He was now more then uneasy. But Hawkeye gave him the military salute. He gave it back, holding back a thankful smile. As Bradley's bodyguard, she couldn't go on telling things like this. She risked her life for their colonel. But she risked it for him too.

"Take care," she said softly, so that the wind could take her words away.

"I'll try. Be careful too."

The anxiousness and feelings were shared. They waited at new for Mustang to come out, so that the mission could begin. Havoc felt free like a bird. He was still uneasy, but he didn't need a cigarette anymore. Riza cared about him.

"Are we ready, lieutenant?" asked Roy as he came out from the building, finishing to place his glove on his right hand.

He was pale, but determinate. There would be looses on every sides. It didn't matter. As long as they won and carried on their mission. Havoc shifted from one leg to the other. He was walking at new on his feet since so little time. But Hawkeye gave him the look. That look which says: don't die. He nodded. Roy was greeted by this look too. He gave up a weak smile. This was his last time ordering men. Well, he hoped not.

"Are we ready yet?"

"Yes, sir!"

-the end-

Will they survive that terrible mission? How did Havoc get back on his feet? What really is this mission? Well, it's all yours to guess. Review and see ya!
