Ok, so I know it's been done before but I was in a bit of a mood and decided to write a one-shot between Isabelle and Simon, when Simon has to leave because of the Mark of Cain.
Written to Brother, by Little Birdy.
Enjoy :)
Come Back To Me
Isabelle couldn't believe that the time had come for him to leave. It was too painful to think about. He was looking at her, his deep, dark eyes filled with emotions she didn't want to have to read.
No, it couldn't happen. Not now. Please not now. Another year. Another month. Just not now!
Simon stepped coser to her, his chest moving up and down only through habit, and she thought that if he could, he would have been crying. She definitely was, but she couldn't stop it, couldn't stop the flood of tears that dripped down her cheeks. She couldn't feel embarrasment at having him see her cry, because he was the only one that ever would, the only one that had truly made her feel. She had bared her soul before him, and he in return had shown his. They had loved one another, as long as they could, but now he was leaving.
Suddenly, unable to not be touching him anymore, she darted forward, grasping his face between her palms, his cool skin so familiar against her hands.
'Come back to me, Simon,' she whispered, her entire body pressed against his. He leaned into her, his uneven breath fanning across her cheeks. 'Wherever you go,' she said, her voice firm through her tears, 'Come back to me.'
'I promise,' He breathed and pressed his lips against hers one last time, her tears mixing in their mouths, making everything taste of salt and pain and one another.
He was pulling away from her, but she didn't want to let him go. She couldn't let him go. 'I'm so sorry,' he whispered, his lips brushing against her warm palm, his hair faling slighly to reveal the Mark that was tearing her heart apart.
He slipped through her fingers, leaving an aching hole in her chest. 'I love you.' Simon whispered as the tips of his fingers finally slipped from her grasp, his cheeks wet from Isabelle's tears.
'I love you, too,' she whispered as he disappeared slowly, the dark velvet night eating away at his skin until he was gone completely. The only one she would ever love.
Come back to me
