Summery: Selphie discovers that sometimes, Devour just isn't worth it.
Frowning slightly at the closed door in front of him, Irvine wondered if maybe he had missed somewhere when he had checked the ship for Selphie. Scratching his chin in thought Irvine was positive that he had looked everywhere for the hyperactive girl. Zell even claimed that he had seen her heading towards her dorm room on his way down to the cafeteria.
Knocking loudly once more incase the girl was sleeping, Irvine almost fell into the room when it was yanked open. Straightening himself out Irvine turned towards Selphie to ask why she hadn't answered the door the first six times he knocked, but stopped himself before he could even get the words out.
Pale face, flat hair and dark circles under her eyes, Irvine had to admit that Selphie looked like shit: not that he'd say it too the girls face.
"You ok? You don't look too well." The sharpshooter questioned with concern as he gave the girl a quick once-over glance. Normally jumpy and bubbly, Selphie looked like she was barely keeping herself standing.
Letting out a sigh the brunette looked like she was about to say something, only to quickly cover her mouth and make a frantic rush for the bathroom. As the sound of retching met his ears Irvine wondered just what the girl had eaten this time. It wouldn't be the first time that the small brunette ate enough sweets to make herself sick; but even then she never looked this bad.
Making his way across the room and into the joining bathroom Irvine almost wanted too gag himself. Hovering in the doorway, Irvine thought he should have been helping, like holding the girls hair back or something, but truthfully, he wasn't sure if he could keep his own stomach in check if he got any closer.
Only when Selphie flushed the toilet with a sigh of relief did Irvine deem it safe to talk again. "What happened Selph? You must have ate something vile to get that sick." He commented, handing the girl a wet facecloth to wipe her face with.
The usually hyperactive girl took the cloth but was unable to meet the others eyes as she mumbled something under her breath. "Huh? What was that?" Irvine questioned.
"A T-Rex." She mumbled quietly and Irvine just blinked at the answer.
"What about it?"
"I ate a T-Rex."
Irvinve just stared at the girl for a few tense moments before a completely horrified look came across his face. "W-what? How…I mean why would you…is that even possible?" he questioned nervously.
Selphie sniffed loudly, trying to keep the tears out of her eyes; her whole body seemed to ache. "It's all Quistis' fault!" she accused, stomping her foot loudly on the ground in a mockery of a child's temper tantrum.
"She said that if I ate the T-rex it would make me stronger and I didn't really believe her until she did it herself!" Shaking her head at the thought Irvine was sure that the girl was going to have a nervous breakdown. "It was disgusting, but she said it worked so I tried and…"
Sniff. "I feel so sick."
"Gezz Selph..." Irvine started, rubbing the back of his neck as if it would help him think of something comforting to say. "How could you even listen to anything Qunitis says about food anyways? You know she eats crap like spider webs and stuff just for kicks."
Sniff "Zell told me that he saw her eat an accelerator once … I didn't really believe him, but now I'm not so sure…"
"See? She's crazy." Irvine accused with a shake of his head.
Sigh "Let's just get you cleaned up and just make sure you never eat anything she says again." He suggested before moving to help the girl.
"But she said eating aliens would make me faster…" the brunette muttered quietly.
"Selphie!"
