Pepper sighed. She really couldn't stand it anymore. The longer she knew him, the more she fell in love with him. And the more she fell in love with him, the harder it became to be just friends with him. Why couldn't he see anything shed been doing?

"Hey, you okay Pepper?" Rhodey asked as Tony worked on the armor, completely tuned out of reality.

"Ugh, no! I can't stand this anymore! Tony doesn't notice me at all anymore. I can't take it. One of these days my stupid feelings are just gonna let themselves out of my mouth on their own. What's worst is I have no idea how he feels in return!" Pepper complained. Rhodey recognized it as the usual.

"Hang in there, Pep. Tony's not the brightest person when it comes to relationships. It takes him a while to find out who he likes. I know he'll come around sometime." Rhodey soothed. Pepper had heard that old speech a million times over. By now, there was nothing else Rhodey could think of to say. Tony was just really oblivious sometimes.

After Pepper left for home (as it was getting a bit late), Rhodey decided to grab Tony and head home themselves; his way of getting Tony to listen to him when he talked about Pepper and how Tony felt about her.

"Hey, T, we should head home too. It's getting late." Rhodey called. Tony lifted his goggles and turned off his welding torch.

"Already?" He asked.

"Yep." Rhodey called over his shoulder as he gathered his books.

"Hey, lemme ask you something." Rhodey said as they headed out of the lab.

"What?" Tony asked.

"Do you like Pepper?" Rhodey responded. Tony blushed, the question hushing him.

"Do I like her? W-why do you ask?" Tony responded nervously. Rhodey rolled his eyes. He knew what Tony was trying to do.

"I ask because Pepper is desperate to get you to notice her. Didn't you find it weird when she had a sudden addiction to shoes? Or when she started dating Happy?" Rhodey explained. Tony stopped walking briefly.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about." Tony said nervously, continuing the walk back to town for a cab. Rhodey walked in front of Tony, placing his hands on Tony's shoulders, making them stop walking.

"Tony, you like Pepper. Say it." Rhodey demanded.

"W-what?"

"You, Anthony Stark, are in love with your best friend, Pepper Potts. Say it."

"Why?"

"Jeezus Tony just say it!"

"Ahh, okay!"

Tony paused nervously.

"I-I like Pepper." Tony mumbled under his breath.

"So I can hear, Tony."

"I like Pepper." Tony said, a teensy bit louder.

"Louder still, Tony."

Tony repeated the statement a bit louder, and once more Rhodey demanded he speak audibly.

"I'm in love with Pepper Potts, my best friend, okay? Happy now?" Tony shouted.

"That's more like it. Now, doesn't it feel better to have that off your chest?" Rhodey asked. Tony thought a moment.

"Actually, it kinda does."

"Atta boy! Now you can actually notice Pepper next time she tries!" Rhodey cheered.

"Wait what? She wants me to notice her? That's why she's been acting weird lately?" Tony asked. Rhodey slapped his hand to his forehead.

"Yes! My God, you really don't get girls do you?"

"Nope."

Rhodey shook his head.

"You are just a sad kid, Tony. Sad."

"Yeah I know." Tony chimed.

"So, are you gonna tell her?" Rhodey asked.

"I dunno, what if we go through a bad breakup? I don't wanna lose her as a friend." Tony said.

"T, I don't think that'll happen with you guys. You go together so well."

"You really think so?"

"Yeah. I really do."

Tony smiled. Maybe, just maybe, he would tell her…

Short, but it's been sitting on my cpu for a little bit and I needed to post it. Review?
