Song-You and Me by Lifehouse

Tony looked around the gym, seeing everyone else dancing to the slow song. Everone but him. Once again, he was alone.

As Tony looked around more, he saw that Pepper was standing on the sidelines as well. He felt nervousness and fear well up inside him as he walked over to her, but when he stopped as he was facing her, he swallowed it and held out his hand.

"Care to dance?" He asked. Pepper smiled.

"I don't know, why would I dance with you?" Pepper taunted. Of course she wanted to, she just wanted to make him nervous.

"Because you know you want to?" Tony said. Pepper chuckled.

"Good point. Okay, sure I'll dance with you." Pepper placed her hand in his still outstretched one and Tony led her to the dance floor. Once in the crowd of people dancing, Tony pulled Pepper close to him and snaked his arms around her waist. Pepper wrapped hers around his shoulders and neck area, an excited smile decorating her face. Tony didn't really know how to dance, but when he was with her it all felt so natural. They slowly stepped in circles, went side to side, danced like he hadn't before. Which is saying something, considering he had never danced before in his life.

Pepper rested her head on Tony's shoulder. Rhodey, having been peeking at the sight over his date's shoulder, smiled to himself. iFinally,/i he thought.

Pepper lifted her head and looked up into Tony's eyes and smiled slightly.

"So, you enjoying yourself?" Tony asked with a smile. Pepper's smile grew.

"Always when I'm with you, Tony,"

What day is it? And in what month?
This clock never seemed so alive
I can't keep up and I can't back down
I've been losing so much time
'Cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do
Nothing to lose
And it's you and me and all other people
And I don't know why, I can't keep my eyes off of you

Suddenly, Tony's brave teenage cockiness flew away and he was completely nervous again. Something about looking in her eyes just had that effect on him. He admired her sparkling eyes, and loved how they overflowed with happiness and hope.

Tony cleared his mind of all thoughts that weren't about her and leaned in closer to her. The light danced in her eyes, but Pepper closed them as Tony got closer to her and she swelled with excitement inside.

Tony soon enough closed the gap between them and it was electric; like lightning. A huge spark, exhilarating. It was like nothing he'd ever felt before.

Yet, he never wanted it to end.

Erm, I know it's short, okay? Just deal. I'm having a one-shot mania over hurr that is to be continued tomorrow. I know it's kind of a random prom, but I don't really care. It's cute. Kay? So you'll review?
