1. Crumbling I
Usually she felt good about finding something. That meant that somebody looking for it could get it back. But, occasionally, finding things left her worse off – but she couldn't bring herself to mind terribly. As long as she was honest and tried her best, then that was enough.
That changed when the Liar Game commenced. Her honesty almost buckled her down with a debt she couldn't afford to pay – because she'd been so sure someone she knew to be so wonderful wouldn't betray her like that.
Even if she hadn't known her opponent, she couldn't immediately think of such dishonesty. That was her strength…but also her fault. That was why she sought out Akiyama Shinichi: the ex-con just released from jail. That was why she pleaded her case to him: the heavy despair that clung to her at the thought of the debt becoming more possible by the day.
