Title: Speeding Bullets
Rating: T
Categories: Angst, General
Spoilers: Spring Fever, BL: Los Angeles, and another one I'm forgetting, I'm sure.
Pairing: None. Denny/Alan friendship. In my mind, they belong together, but there's nothing in this fic.
Author's Note: Response to prompt #42: Last Wish. Merely a pathetic double drabble I'm foisting off onto you unsuspecting readers. All four of you, that is.

Denny's Last Wish is that Alan will shoot him when the time comes. He thinks it would be too undignified to go of heart failure, or Alzheimer's, or simple old age. Nothing so damnably ordinary for The Great Denny Crane. The way he sees it, he's lived by the gun, and that's the way he ought to die. So, he wants Alan to shoot him, before the doctors, and the tubes, and the monitors, and the silent minutes have their way with him.

And anyway, Alan is his best friend. There's no one else Denny trusts more to do the right thing. Or maybe, in this case, the Denny Crane thing. It's only fitting that Alan should be the one to do the job, or, as far as Denny sees it, have the honor of doing the job. So Denny's Last Wish is that Alan will do the deed when the day arrives. It's a thought that comforts Denny to no end.

Alan's Last Wish is that he meets a bullet first, so he never has to pull that trigger.
