Time Nearing
Kagome sat on the porch of Kaede's hut. She stared into the sky at the billions of stars that blanketed it. It had been nearly a year since she fell down the well. She knew that she and her friends would soon have to face Naraku. Every night, she wished upon the stars for their safety. She had no idea what she was going to do once Naraku was defeated. She didn't even know if she was destined to come out of the battle alive. The Feudal Era had been her home for the past year. She heard footsteps behind her. "Hey Kagome." Her friend, Sango, had approached her. "Hey Sango." "What are you doing out here all by your lonesome?" "Oh, just thinking. And waiting for InuYasha to return. He worries me when he goes off like this." "Yes. And, he has been gone for some time now." "I do hope he hurries." "He'll be fine, Kagome. He can take care of any youkai that show up." "Yes. I know. I hope he doesn't have to fight. He could get hurt." "I'm sure he's fine. "You're probably right, Sango." Her friend turned and left Kagome to her thoughts once again.
She stood out there maybe another thirty minutes until she could see a figure out in the horizon. As it got closer, she could clearly see it was her hanyou. The weight of worrying had grown lighter, but still remained. After all, he hadn't reached the hut, yet. She didn't know if he had been hurt or not. Once the hanyou got dead in front of her, the worrying had gone. Now, in it's place, was anger. "Where have you been?" She yelled at InuYasha. "What are you talking about?" he stupidly asked. "You know what I'm talking about! How can you just leave here without saying a word?!" "Since when did I have to tell you my every move?" "You don't! You could have at least told someone you were leaving! I was worried sick!" "Feh. No need to worry. I'm here now." "InuYasha, you baka. SIT!" And, down he went. Right into the ground. Hard, too.
Kagome stormed off in the direction of an empty field. She plopped down to the ground. 'That InuYasha. So insensitive! Doesn't he care that he puts the rest of us through hell with worry when he just disappears like that?' She thought to herself.
InuYasha stood up. 'Stupid wench. Always sitting me. So what if I didn't tell her I was leaving? Why does she even care?' He didn't even need the answer. He knew Kagome cared about him and that's all he needed to know. He didn't know what to do. Either go in the hut and hear 20,000 questions from Miroku, Sango, and Shippo or to follow Kagome and risk being "sat" again. He decided to try and make amends with Kagome. He didn't need her mad at him. Then, she might go back to her time.
"Kagome." he said, standing five feet from where she was sitting. "What do you want, InuYasha?" she harshly replied back. He walked up to her and sat down next to her. "Kagome, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left without telling anyone. I'm not really used to people caring about me. I have been alone my whole life." "InuYasha, I'm sorry I went off on you. I just can't help but to worry. The fight with Naraku is coming and I don't know if each day could be my last with you." "Is that what has you worried? Kagome, believe me, when Naraku shows his sorry ass, I assure you, I won't be the one dying." "But how do you know for a fact?" "I don't." With that being said, Kagome leaned in and hugged InuYasha with all of her might. 'Kagome? What are you doing?' InuYasha asked her in his mind. He decided he didn't care. He hugged her back. "Everything will turn out fine. I promise." he assured her. She nodded and continued to hug him. She didn't want to ever let go.
Ok, guys. I am not sure if I should continue on with this story or not. I have some more written out on paper…but, I'm not sure if I should add it later or just keep it a One-Shot. Please review and tell me!
