Hello! I had a plot bunny months ago that I started to write about Tosh and Owen, but it just wasn't behaving on the page. I had a flash of inspiration and decided to chge to Tosh and Ianto, but by then, I was tired of the rabbit trail. So, here is the new beginning! Later chapters will definitely be rated M, though I'm not planning on writing any "lemons".
Enjoy!
Torchwood- One Rough Week…
Toshiko's concentration was broken by a quick, sharp series of beeps coming from the computer at the next desk. With a sigh, she pushed her glasses farther up the bridge of her nose and turned to look. A map had popped up on the screen with a pulsing red dot at its center that corresponded with the spike in the graph at the bottom of the screen. Rift activity. Just what she needed on a drizzly March night.
Tosh was startled again when Ianto called her name from the top of the medbay stairs.
"Tosh, is that Rift activity?"
Taking little effort to hide her irritation, she called back, "Yes, Ianto. What else would it be? It's about fifteen minutes away, north Cardif. It looks like it's only a small spike."
Ianto appeared at her shoulder to check the map, broom in hand.
"Well, I guess we'd better go see what it is then," he said, a corner of his mouth twitching into a grin.
"You might want to check that by Jack," Tosh replied. As if on cue, Jack stepped out of his office, stretching.
"Was that a Rift notification I heard?"
He leaned on the balcony rail above them, his hair a mess and an ink smudge staining his cheek.
"Is your paperwork done yet, sir?"
Ianto's quiet question made the captain scowl.
"Of course it isn't, Ianto. It takes more than a couple of hours to rewrite a week's worth of reports. Tosh, get ready, we're going to check this out ourselves. No need to rouse the others on their day off."
Tosh rolled her eyes and muttered something about how they probably needed roused. Jack just shook his head at her and started to shrug on his coat while addressing Ianto.
"Ianto, where are the keys to the land rover? You can stay here and hold the fort down."
"Actually, why don't you 'hold the fort down' and I'll drive Tosh. Like you said, a week's worth of reports can't be done in only a few hours and you have a busy day planned for tomorrow."
Jack glared at the young Welshman for a minute before stalking back into his office, slamming the door shut behind him.
"Alright then, shall we go?" Ianto pulled the keys out of his pock with a flourish, and Tosh sighed before picking up her coat.
