This is just a story about what was going on in Jame's head right before the incident by the lake in his 5th year.
I hadn't really read a story about this before so I decided to write one.
This is my first story so PLEASE review and let me know how I can improve my writing!

It was such a beautiful day. We had just finished our DADA OWL and we were leaning against an old tree by the lake. There was so much going on these days that it was nice to just take a moment to listen to the water as the wind made it ripple onto the bank. The sound was relaxing but it wasn't enough to keep my thoughts calm. So I decided to get out my snitch. I repeatedly let it get just out of my reach and then I would effortlessly catch it again. I was getting bored fast though.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw a group of girls lying in the sun. That's when I saw her. I couldn't help but stare. She was so outrageously gorgeous. My friends kept telling me that she wasn't that special and that she was too goody-goody for me. But I couldn't stay away from her. She was intoxicating. She was laughing with her friends when she happened to glance my way. She huffed and looked away.

I was so frustrated by her. I knew I acted dumb when she was around, but I just couldn't help it! I loved to see her angry. She always got so passionate about the things she cared about. I knew it was probably stupid but I loved that I could cause her to get so flustered. It was endearing.

I wanted her to want me too but she was just too darn stubborn! I felt like every time she was in my presence I had to do something to get her attention! Nothing seemed to work though. She always scolded me for whatever I was doing and told me to leave her alone.

She was so different from any other girl at Hogwarts. From the first time I met her I knew she was not like any of the other girls. She never seemed to care much about the new popular thing. She was very open to learning something new. Never before had I seen anyone so enthusiastic about learning. She always put the utmost energy into everything she did. The teachers loved her and although many other students thought she was peculiar they all respected her.

One thing I will never understand however is why she liked Snape so much. He always followed her around like the creepy bat he was. He was cruel, gross, and it was obvious that he enjoyed the dark arts. But somehow she always overlooked those bad qualities about him. Nothing anyone told her about him seemed to make a difference. She always stood up for him no matter how severe the accusation was. She was too good for him.

When I looked back across the lake to where she was sitting I noticed that her friends were looking at me. How was it that I could get every girls attention but hers? I was starting to get antsy. I needed to do something to distract myself for a little while. Thinking about Lily too much always made me feel nervous.

At that moment I saw Snape walking by. Some things just happen without any logical thought. I got to my feet and took out my wand.

"All right, Snivellus?"
