A/N: What's up with me and Death Note fanfiction? I used to be really scared and paranoid about it, but now I'm not. No idea what happened there.
Theme: Break Away
It's okay to let go, she tells herself wind whipping through her perfect blonde hair, making her adorable dress rustle. She looks down, can see the ground below, can see people living their lives, none the wiser to the girl ending hers.
She thinks about why it has to be like this and knows that without him there is nothing. She had him and made her life about him, never considering that he could be gone. Now he was and she doesn't know what she has without him anymore.
She made her life so much about him that she doesn't know what it was about before, doesn't know how to keep living. He is gone and she is alone, and there is nothing in the world for her.
She will jump because she won't be able to find a new life. She doesn't have the strength and the right person needs to come to her and show her the world that she has already let go of, let go of for him.
She steps forward, and forward, and forward to her death, and begins to take the final step before she jumps because by now, it becomes okay to let go, okay to break away.
But Matsuda puts a hand on her shoulder and takes her into his arms and holds her and lets her cry, but does not let her go. He never intends to let her go because when you love someone you keep them close and show them what they need to see.
A/N: As you could probably tell, it was set during Misa's suicide, or almost suicide in this case. It didn't start out as a Matsuda/Misa, but it evolved into that.
