Hey folks! I have made yet another poem, but this time, it's so big that it has chapters! Believe it or not, each chapter takes me at least an hour to make, because making this poem the way I want it while still making it sound poetic is actually really hard. I may be spending more time on games in the future, since I just got two new ones and am almost finished with the first, but I promise I will finish this story if it takes me years to do so! It will probably take a lot of time to finish the whole thing, since it is going to be pretty long, but trust me when I say it's my best one yet. Enjoy! Oh yeah, disclaimer, I do not own cave story, nor do I own anything related to it, I only have the game. I do, however, own this poem based on it.
For Freedom's Light
I'm a soldier from the surface.
I woke up in a cave.
To help out other people
Is the only thing I crave.
I woke up with no memory,
Without even a name.
"I must get out of here,"
was the only thought that came.
Soon I found a weapon
Near a sleeping man.
I needed some protection,
So I took the gun and ran.
I continued on my search
For desired freedom's light,
But when I finally found it,
The sky was not in sight.
I was in another cave,
Much larger than the last,
Where I could see but could not find
From where the light was cast.
The room was filled with many homes,
But residents were few.
The locals were called Mimigas,
And all loved all but Sue.
"Sue is just an outsider,"
said King, the leader no doubt.
"There have been many kidnappings
since she came about.
But we'll give her to the culprit,
She's the one he wants, you see,
And hopefully he'll choose to set
All the others free.
But Sue has gone to hiding out
In old Arthur's place.
The owner won't give us the key,
But we will win this race!"
But win the battle they did not,
For Toroko still escaped,
But soon she too was captured
And taken to her fate.
I went to Arthur's grave
And found another key.
This caused me to wonder…
What lies in wait for me?
