Will has been back in our world for ten years and he has a family. Most of this is on Midsummer's Day. If it's so bad you dont' want to finish please review and tell me.
'Daddy tell me a story'
'All right.' Will said looking down at his oldest daughter. 'What do you want it to be about?'
'Another world.' Amy replied enthusiastically
'Ok, well, once upon a time there was a young boy and he found his way to another world.' Will continued to tell his daughter the story of those few years of his life. 'And so even though they loved each other very much, Lyra and Mark (Well he couldn't use his name or she'd make a fuss) had to say goodbye and Mark came back to his world.
Usually if he told Amy a story this long she would be asleep long before he finished but now she was wide awake and staring at him with wide eyes. 'But why didn't he just open up another hole and see her?' She was always critical of others and couldn't quite understand the concept of what would have happened had Lyra and Will stayed together.
'I don't know Amy, I don't know.' Seeing that her father was sad Amy dropped the subject.
'Daddy? '
'Mmm,'
'Can you take me riding tomorrow?'
'Sorry sweetie but we're all going to the Botanic Gardens tomorrow.' Will's eyes had a strange look to them. 'I will watch you ride the day after ok? I go to the Gardens on midsummer's day every year.'
'Why?' When Amy wanted something she never forgot it soon even though her parents always stood their ground. 'Everyone else goes riding every day.' She was pouting now and she knew her father didn't care.
'No. We're going tomorrow.'
The next day the sky was covered in clouds and Susan, Will's wife didn't want her children getting wet. 'We'll go another day Darling.'
'I'm sorry Susie but I've got to go. I promised someone.'
'Ok, but I don't' want the children going with you I don't want them sick too.' Will grinned at his wife, he knew that he loved her and just as he loved his life with her, Amy, Bradley and their little baby girl Sandra he just wished he could have had more time with Lyra.
When he arrived at the park the gardeners gave him strange looks as he trudged up the hill towards the bench. Well it was raining. Not the best time to visit. Over the years this quiet spot had become surrounded by trees with gaps big enough to walk through and he was glad for the privacy, he pulled his cat out of under his coat, cats weren't allowed in the Gardens but he couldn't deny Kirjava the chance to be near Pan. 'I still don't see why you couldn't just ask them to let me in. It's not like I'll dig holes or anything.' Kirjava had a great dislike for dogs. 'It's an undignified way to travel.'
'Mmm.' Will murmured and Kirjava sighed he did this every year. Closed his eyes and was lost to her for one hour.
Will closed his eyes and listened, he wondered if Lyra had found love as he had, he wondered if she was sitting on this bench in her world, and most of all he wondered if she was happy.
My first fanfic so don't hurt me. I just wanted to see where it will go. it's not a story just a standalone thing so don't worry you don't have to suffer much longer.
Please review! As you can tell I need all the help I can get.
