Something that Angela said on last night's episode "The Man on the Fairway" got my attention and wouldn't let go. So, here's the result.
Summary: A one-shot ficlet in response to the hilarious statement made by Angela to Jesse Kane in the episode "The Man on the Fairway" which aired March 8th (2006) at 9pm.
Spoilers: Just the quote, but you might need to know what happened in that particular scene to get this. Note: Those who watched the episode may recognize a second quote embedded somewhere in this snapshot from Temperance's office.
"No one has tried to kiss Brennan in this office and lived to tell about it."
-Angela Montenegro
In This Office
"Hey Brenn, I finished the sketch and I've reconstructed the head and face, and there's something I think you should…" Angela's voice trailed off as she reached the doorway of Temperance's office. Her eyebrow arched as she took in the scene.
A man lay gasping on the floor in the middle of the office, as if he'd been flipped onto his back. Temperance stood next to him, looking annoyed.
"Uh, what happened here?" Angela stepped in, incredulous.
"He kissed me!"
"And?"
"He kissed me!" Temperance repeated.
"That's a bad thing?"
"It is when you didn't want him to! Now, what were you here for?"
"Didn't want him to, or didn't expect him to?"
"Angela!"
I mean, why wouldn't you want him to? He is pretty cute…"
"This is where I work."
"Ah, I get it. Never mix business with pleasure, huh?"
"Angela! Focus!"
"Oh, all right, spoilsport. I reconstructed the head and face of your guy from the library."
"Well? Let's go take a look!" Temperance led the way out of the office. On her way out, Angela looked back at the man on the floor, who had lifted his head to look at them. With a wink and a smirk, she exited the office too. The man groaned and put his head back down. Lesson learned.
Don't look for a plot or a point. It's just a reaction to a quote I heard on the show. But do review! Please?
