I don't own Naruto just my OC's

"Tou-san, they're catching up to us!" A small, six-year-old girl tugs on the edge of her father's shirt.

"I know! Mina, you must go ahead without me," a man with midnight-colored hair and brown eyes bit his thumb, drawing blood. His hands flew through five hand signs.

'Summoning no Justu!

There was a small poof of smoke and a low growl.

"Yuka, get Mina as far as you can from these people."

"Hai, Master Shin," the large black wolf summon lowered its body for the smaller girl to climb. A few quiet sobs were heard from the young girl as she realized what was happening. "She watched her father with tearful eyes as she watched him run his hands through his summon's fur"

You will meet new people," he brushed his fingers against her cheek to wipe away tears, "and they will protect you just as I am now because I know they will love such a beautiful girl like you. You're the most important thing to me. Stay safe."

"No! Tou-san, don't leave me!" Mina cried as he lifted her onto the large wolf. The wolf began to run without a look at her master. "PAPA!" the girl screamed, her voice softened the farther she was taken away. "TOU-SAN! NO!"

Once he was sure that Mina was a good distance away, Shin turned towards the approaching enemies. His eyes were now bright blue with black, silted pupils. A demonic glow of chakra covered him as he shouted, "bring it on! All of you!"

As the black wolf runs through the Konoha forest, the leaves begin to brush against each other, making a loud rustling sound. The cold wind blew through the night making the small child on the back of the wolf shiver. Yuka thought about her late master's wish. He had entrusted his only daughter in her paws.

She made a silent vow to her master, 'don't worry, Master Shin. I'll look after her from now on. May you find peace in the afterlife... my dear friend and pack brother.'

"Yuka-chan, we can stop for the night. I don't want to move anymore," the tired and cold six-year-old girl interrupted the wolf thoughts. Seeing that her little one is about to fall asleep, Yuka decides to stop close by the road to the Village Hidden the Leaves.

As they stop in the trees for the night, Yuka noticed that her young mistress was quiet, too quiet from her normally carefree self. "Mina-hime?" called the wolf.

The little, six-year-old girl turned to her guardian as she got off of her back, "Yes, Yuka-chan?" Mina fingered her dark locks as she spoke softly.

"You do not have to force yourself to hold back your tears any longer, hime," said Yuka.

"What do you mean?" Mina looked as if she don't know what her father's summon was talking about. The black wolf gives her a soft look as she sighed to herself. "It's alright to grieve when you have lost a loved one." Her voice is filled with pain, but also with understanding.

"I'm not weak," Mina protested, turning her eyes away.

"I was never implying such a thing," Yuka's eyes were stern as she looked at the girl.

"But... Ninja are not to show emotions," said the dark hair girl after some thought.

"That is true but you're still a creature, a human, that can feel pain and joy. Your father wanted for you to live freely, without the fear of the past. It's alright now, Mina. Just let it all out," at her words, Mina began to sob, her face buried into Yuka's fur. When she pulls away, the wolf licks her tears away, purring comforting words to the child as she cries herself to sleep.
