This was a request from my younger brother Gabriel. This is about Lloyd and my oc Lavender, Lloyd's twin brother. This is my 2018 Halloween special. This takes place 4 years after "A Garmadon Family Christmas", my special last year.

21-year-old Lloyd Garmadon and his twin brother Lavender, or Laurence as he was often called, were walking through a costume store.

"Anything?" Lloyd asked.

"Nope," Lavender replied, searching through a rack of colourful costumes and getups.

Lloyd released a long sigh as he glanced over the holiday store. The store was decked out in Halloween decorations, seeing as how the holiday was a two days away. There were skeleton dummies hanging from the ceiling, black and orange streamers taped around the store's walls, and costumes and candy in supplies that seemed neverending.

"Halloween is in two days and we have nothing," Lavender huffed in defeat.

"It's ok. There are other stores," Lloyd put a hand on his brother's shoulder.

"We have looked EVERYWHERE, Lloyd! Nothing is right for us. Let's face it," Lavender mumbled.

"Is there something I can help you two with?" asked an employee, walking towards the duo.

"We are a bit frustrated," Lloyd looked at Lavender.

"May I ask a question?" Lavender asked the employee.

"Anything, officer," she smiled, glancing at his NCPD uniform.

"We are both 21 years old. Is is wrong we are still into dressing up?" Lavender asked, recieving a surprised look from the employee, "so that's a yes?"

"No! No, it isn't strange at all. Are you having problems looking for suitable costumes?"

"Yes," they both replied in unison.

"Well... I don't know what to tell you. The other ninja were here and I just told them to be themselves. Ya know, as ninja. Maybe you two could do that as well? Lloyd, you as a ninja and... other one, you as a cop,"

"We aren't doing that," Lloyd said.

"We did that last year," Lavender mumbled.

"Then I don't know what to say. Good luck, though," The employee walked away.

Later on, Lavender and Lloyd went to their older sister's house to see if she had an idea.

Nancy Garmadon was busy in the kitchen baking cookies as a halloween specialty, instead of candy. Her husband Matthew Quincy was frosting them. As soon as the twins walked through the front door, the smell wafted into their noses.

"It smells like a bakery in here," Lavender sighed in content.

"Uncles! You're here!" Sasha, Nancy's daugher said, running down the stairs, "Mom and daddy are in the kitchen," Sasha dragged the twins into the kitchen.

"Hi, boys. Have a seat," Nancy said, as she rushed through the kitchen.

"I'm getting a weird vibe... like strong amounts of celestial force is being used in here?" Lavender glanced questioningly at Matthew then Nancy.

Nancy wasn't exactly born from Misako and Garmadon. Nancy was the daughter of an angel. The angel Gabriel, in fact. The very angel who sent the message to Mary about baby Jesus. With that little detail, that made Nancy a Nephilium. She was capable of using angelic powers at any given time, as well as produce wings like an Angel.

Matthew was the opposite. Matthew was born of the Devil himself. His mother was unknown, but he did know she was human. Matthew was also a Nephilium, but with demonic powers rather than angelic powers. Though the Devil was his father, he rebelled against him and didn't allow the darkness to take over.

When they had married, that was essentially signing a contract binding them to their Earth bodies forever and keeping them immortal. They were not capable of dying. If they did, they would go to neither Heaven nor Hell. Every time they used their powers, a fragrance known as celestial force would be left behind. In strong amounts, even mortals could feel it.

"Yeah, I always use a bit of celestial force in my baking," Nancy muttered, rushing to put another batch of cookies into the oven.

"Mind sampling these?" Matthew handed them each a frosted sugar cookie.

Lloyd and Lavender exchanged glances then took a bite at the same time.

"It's..." Lloyd trailed off.

Lavender choked, "kids won't like these, Nance. Too much sugar,"

"Ok. I'll bring it down a notch," Nancy mumbled, changing her recipe, "oh, did you two need something?" She turned to them.

"Yeah, we were actually going to ask if you two are dressing up for Halloween this year?" Lavender asked.

"Absolu-" Nancy was cut off by Matthew who passionately stood up.

"Yes. We are dressing up for Halloween. Halloween is the one day I can be myself and not be judged. The one day that it's ok to take candy from strangers. But Halloween is more than that... there's costume competitions to win, pumpkin carving contests to crush. And most importantly-"

"Ok, Matthew, I think they get it," Nancy interrupted.

Matthew blushed embarrassed as he sat back down.

"Makes sense you're passionate, Matthew," Lloyd faced his brother-in-law, "I mean Halloween is thought to be a celebration of the Devil and since he's your father..."

"That isn't why-"

"Are you two going?" Nancy interrupted.

"We were planning on it. But we have literally done every single twins costume getup there is," Lavender sighed in frustration.

"Devil and God?"

"Already done,"

"Princess and Prince?"

"Already done,"

"Knight and horse...?"

"Yep,"

"Hero and Villain?"

"Yes...!"

"Each other?"

They were silent.

"So no?" Nancy joined her brothers and husband at the table.

Lavender and Lloyd exchanged glances and shook their heads.

"Try it. Lloyd, you be Lavender. Lavender, you be Lloyd. I'm surprised you haven't thought of it already," Nancy got up and walked back towards the oven.

That evening, they spent most of their time at Lavender's apartment, which was empty due to his wife having taken their 11 children to visit Ryan and James Jolhantson, Lavender's brother's-in-law. The boys tried on each others clothes, delighted when they discovered they wore the same size.

"So are we being each other casual or by career?" Lloyd asked, applying bleach to Lavender's hair to bleach out the black.

"Casual. I wanna see how many people we fool," Lavender replied, remaining still for his brother.

"One problem, though. You're way paler than me. You're as white as... as a popsicle..."

"Popsicles aren't white though..."

"Before they have colour they are,"

"That's just ice,"

"You get my point, though," Lloyd set the bleach on the counter and looked through Lavender's hair to make sure it was all even.

"Yes, I do, but there is also this thing called I live with my wife and my wife owns makeup," Lavender stood.

"I love your thinking," the twins ran off into the bathroom to find River's (Lavender's wife) makeup supply. They spent hours playing around with the makeup before they were perfect.

The next day...

"Halloween is tomorrow," Lloyd paced back and forth in the kitchen as Lavender was making the both of them breakfast.

"So?" Lavender looked over at his brother, disoriented from seeing his twin with black hair and pale skin.

"I feel like we're missing something. But I have no idea what,"

Lavender set both of their plates on the bar counter, "well... there is that Halloween party the others are hosting at the Bounty tonight. Is that wht it was?"

"No," Lloyd sat down, "I feel like-"

"Candy?"

"For trick or tre-"

"For us," Lavender smirked as he sat next to Lloyd.

"Very funny, but no. Like-"

"Well... there's always the family party that we always go to," Lavender took a sip of his coffee.

"That's it! Ugh how could I forget it? You're the best," Lloyd pat Lavender's back with slight force before getting up and running down a hall. Lavender choked and looked down the hall.

"Where..." he trailed off and shook his head, drinking his coffee again.

Lloyd returned moments later wearing one of Lavender's sweaters and a pair of dark jeans.

"Very emo. Truly. But allow me to just," Lavender walked towards Lloyd and parted his dyed hair a certain way then halfway unzipped the sweater, "there. That's better. And when we go outside, put on the hood,"

"Ok. As for you, let me fix YOUR hair," Lloyd began to brush Lavender's bleached hair until it was silky and smooth. Lloyd parted it and fixed Lavender's clothes.

"Let's go,"

Halloween

The twins stood at the doorstep of their parent's house and knocked on the door. The door was answered by their other sister, Jaylynn Garmadon.

"Lav! Lloyd!" she hugged them both and let them inside.

"Hey, Jaylynn," Lavender said, walking in.

"Hello, Lynn," Lloyd followed his brother inside.

"Boys! Hello," Misako greeted, walking out of the kitchen. The twins waved.

"Cole will be here soon with Jay. Zane and Pixal are coming, and I believe Kai is coming, too," Jaylynn walked back into the kitchen as Nancy emerged from it.

"Lav? You're looking unusually emo tonight," Nancy muttered, looking at Lloyd.

"Hey wait, neither of you are in costume. What happened to your tradition?" Misako asked. The twins snickered.

"We uh... ran out of content," Lavender replied through his snickering.

"yeah. But you look great, Nancy. You too, mom," Lloyd said.

Misako had curled her hair into old fashioned locks and was wearing a colonial dress. Nancy had glitter covering most every inch of her body and her hair was blonde (nancy can change her hair colour with emotion or even just her mind) and in a bun. She wore a short green dress and fairy wings that seemed rather realistic. She also wore bright red lipstick, but no makeup other than that.

"I take it you're Tinker Bell?" Lavender asked.

"Yep! Sasha is Wendy, Matthew is Captain Hook, and Chayse insisted upon Peter Pan," Nancy laughed slightly, "Matthew took them trick or treating, but they will be here soon,"

Chayse was Nancy and Matthew's adopted son. He was adopted only 2 months before. He was 11 years old. Matthew and Nancy had another biological child, but she was spending Halloween with her boyfriend.

"Alright,"

There was another knock on the door.

"Come in," Jaylynn called.

Cole and Jay entered the house dressed in dual costumes. Jay was wearing a red shirt, overalls, and a red hat. He wore white gloves and had a taped on paper mustache. Cole was wearing the same thing, but the colour coordination was green.

"Mario and Luigi?" Jaylynn suggested.

"You know it," Jay smirked.

"Typical best friends," Lloyd laughed.

"Lloyd, I thought you were going to dress up, too?" Jay looked at Lavender, slightly confused.

"I... uh I'm not-" Lavender began.

"He changed his mind," Lloyd interrupted.

"Uh huh..." Jay walked away, Cole following close behind.

Lloyd pulled Lavender into another room.

"This is working... but a bit too well...?" Lloyd whispered.

"Let's just see how long we can keep this up," Lavender smirked.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah-"

"Lloyd!!!!!" called Misako from the kitchen.

"That's my cue," Lavender walked out of the room to find his mother.

Several hours later, everyone was in the living room drinking apple cider around the fireplace. The lights were dimmed and it was storming outside. Nancy kept glancing towards the window, hoping her husband and children were finding their way back over to either their own house or there.

"I have an idea," Misako said, "who wants to tell a creepy story?"

"Oh we have this in the bag," Lloyd smirked.

"Ok, Lav. Go ahead," Misako sat down and everyone turned their attention to Lloyd.

"Have you ever heard... the tale of the Monkey's Paw?"

"Oh this one," Lavender snickered.

"Without, the night was cold and wet, but in the small parlour of Laburnum villa the blinds were drawn and the fire burned brightly. Father and son were at chess; the former, who possessed ideas about the game involving radical chances, putting his king into such sharp and unnecessary perils that it even provoked comment from the white-haired old lady knitting placidly by the fire,"

Lloyd paused and looked into the reflection cast in his cup of cider,

"'Hark at the wind,' said Mr. White, who, having seen a fatal mistake after it was too late, was amiably desirous of preventing his son from seeing it. 'I'm listening,' said the latter grimly surveying the board as he stretched out his hand. 'Check.'"

Lloyd looked over at his twin, as though asking him to continue for him.

Lavender nodded and continued the story,

"'I should hardly think that he's come tonight,' said his father, with his hand poised over the board. 'Mate,' replied the son."

The boys began to alternate turns telling the story. About 15 minutes into the story, the storm had gotten worse and nearly everyone was shaking in their seats.

"The old lady started. 'Is anything the matter?' she asked breathlessly. 'Has anything happened to Herbert? What is it? What is it?'

Her husband interposed. 'There there mother,' he said hastily. 'Sit down, and don't jump to conclusions. You've not brought bad news, I'm sure sir,' and eyed the other wistfully.

'i'm sorry - ' began the visitor.

'Is he hurt?' demanded the mother wildly.

The visitor bowed in assent. 'Badly hurt,' he said quietly, 'but he is not in any pain.'

'Oh thank God!' said the old woman, clasping her hands. 'Thank God for that! Thank - '

She broke off as the sinister meaning of the assurance dawned on her and she saw the awful confirmation of her fears in the others averted face. She caught her breath, and turning to her slower-witted husband, laid her trembling hand on his. There was a long silence.

'He was caught in the machinery,' said the visitor at length in a low voice."

Lloyd was interrupted by a loud clap of thunder, making everyone yelp and jump the slightest.

"Should I stop?" Lloyd asked innocently.

"No. Keep going," Zane muttered.

The twins kept telling the story, again interrupted by a flash of lightning and roar of thunder. This time, the power went out. The boys smirked as they proceeded to tell the story.

They were beginning to near the end of the story.

""WISH!" repeated his wife.

He raised his hand. "I wish my son alive again."

The talisman fell to the floor, and he regarded it fearfully. Then he sank trembling into a chair as the old woman, with burning eyes, walked to the window and raised the blind.

He sat until he was chilled with the cold, glancing occasionally at the figure of the old woman peering through the window. The candle-end, which had burned below the rim of the china candlestick, was throwing pulsating shadows on the ceiling and walls, until with a flicker larger than the rest, it expired. The old man, with an unspeakable sense of relief at the failure of the talisman, crept back back to his bed, and a minute afterward the old woman came silently and apathetically beside him.

Neither spoke, but sat silently listening to the ticking of the clock. A stair creaked, and a squeaky mouse scurried noisily through the wall. The darkness was oppressive, and after lying for some time screwing up his courage, he took the box of matches, and striking one, went downstairs for a candle.""

Lavender stopped to take a sip of his now cold apple cider. He glanced at their group, most of which were evidently terrified.

"At the foot of the stairs the match went out, and he paused to strike another; and at the same moment a knock came so quiet and stealthy as to be scarcely audible, sounded on the front door.

The matches fell from his hand and spilled in the passage. He stood motionless, his breath suspended until the knock was repeated. Then he turned and fled swiftly back to his room, and closed the door behind him. A third knock sounded through the house.

"WHAT'S THAT?" cried the old woman, starting up.

"A rat," said the old man in shaking tones - "a rat. It passed me on the stairs."

His wife sat up in bed listening. A loud knock resounded through the house.

"It's Herbert!"

She ran to the door, but her husband was before her, and catching her by the arm, held her tightly.

"What are you going to do?" he whispered hoarsely.

"It's my boy; it's Herbert!" she cried, struggling mechanically. "I forgot it was two miles away. What are you holding me for? Let go. I must open the door."" Lloyd continued.

Lavender took over yet again, ""For God's sake don't let it in," cried the old man, trembling.

"You're afraid of your own son," she cried struggling. "Let me go. I'm coming, Herbert; I'm coming."

There was another knock, and another."

Just as Lloyd said that, there was a harsh knocking on the door. Everyone screamed and turned to the door. There was a flash of lightning, illuminating a figure standing by the door. Everyone screamed yet again, including the twins themselves. The knocking continued, getting louder every time until it was not just knocking, but banging and the ringing of the doorbell.

Lloyd stood, shaking in fear. He grabbed one of Kai's katana and walked towards the door. He hesitantly unlocked the door and grabbed the doorknob. Taking a deep breath, he opened the door.

"AHA- Matthew?"

"It's about time..." Matthew was standing in the doorway holding his 5-year-old daughter Sasha and his 11-year-old son Chayse was huddled to his side, all three of them sobbing wet.

"Oh uh.. come in then," Lloyd blushed embarrassed as he let them in.

"Matthew!" Nancy let out a sigh of relief, mostly just glad it wasn't an undead person out to get them.

"Oh you poor dears. I'll get towels," Misako hurried off to fetch towels for the trio.

"So... so um..." Jay was gripping his cup tightly.

"Were you guys scared?" Chayse asked, a light smirk upon his face.

"Pfft nooo... I dunno what you're talking about. Whaaaaaaat?" Cole nervously laughed.

"I do not understand. We were all frightened by Lavender and Lloyd's story and the turn of events, were we not?" Pixal asked.

"no. We are not scared of anything," Kai crossed his arms.

"except ghosts, attics, spiders," Jay ranted on endlessly.

"Speaking of being scared, I think Lloyd and I have the scariest costumes of all," Lloyd put his hand on Lavender's shoulder, "because I'M actually Lloyd,"

"And I'm Lavender," Lav said with a snicker.

They both stood in the firelight snickering, "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!" They both laughed evilly and ran off into the rainy night.

"What..." Jaylynn muttered.

Matthew and Nancy high-fived, "we did good,"

TADAAAAAA!!! So I highly reccomend the story "The Monkey's Paw". Its really creepy. And the thing with the knock on the door is based on something that happened to one of my friends when we were reading "The Monkey's Paw" for school. I hope you enjoyed this and that it wasn't too confusing. Happy Halloween!
