AN: Not really Kairi/Naminé pairing, but it's about the two of them. Prompt 75 - "Mirror".

The first time that Kairi looked in the mirror to see a different face staring back at her, she was startled. The image had only been there for a moment, but it was enough for her to recognise the face. Similar to her own, with the same blue eyes, was Naminé.

She should have expected it, really. Naminé was the other half of her soul, split apart when Ansem had thrust the keyblade into Sora's chest. A few days ago, they'd merged back together. Kairi had already started to notice some differences, such as the urges to draw and paint, or the way she'd bought a pair of white sandals, something she would never have done before. Little things that reminded her that Naminé was still there, still with her.

The next morning, Kairi brushed her hair in front of the mirror, and smiled when her own features morphed into Naminé's. The blonde smiled, and Kairi returned the gesture, reaching out with one hand to touch the glass. Naminé did the same, and their fingertips met. Kairi, afterwards, wouls swear that she felt skin, not the cold, smooth surface of the mirror.

"Don't forget me, Kairi."

"I won't, don't worry."

Later that day, Kairi had a blonde streak dyed in her red hair, down the left hand side of her face, as a permanent reminder of the Nobody. Sora, she noticed, had a few blond spikes among his dark hair. They grinned at each other, understanding without needing to ask. It just felt right, somehow.
