"Stacking the Deck"

"When will they learn?" Kynn, the man wearing a white cloak said, wondering himself if there was a true answer. He turned from the counter holding two cups of tea and walked to a woman in a black and gray outfit. He carefully handed one cup to her as she reached for it.

"Never," she said with quick distain. The man sat in a chair, adjusted his lightsaber and the couple sipped their hot tea together, moments passed.

"Shouldn't one learn from his mistakes, perform a different course of action, if doing the same thing over and over again, is not productive?"

Anna, the woman finished her tea and replied, "Doesn't history repeat itself? How many centuries have we witnessed together, the clash between the Sith and the Jedi?"

"I know, but I still carry hope for the two, as I did with you and me."

The woman flashed her yellow catlike Sith eyes at him and said, "That was different. We went through an extraordinary experience," the room suddenly grew cold and her voice lowered, "one that cannot be duplicated."

The Jedi finished his tea and moved to the couch next to the Sith woman, they held hands. He soon lost himself in thought. The room warmed. Watching him, the woman offered, "We could push a little."

He immediately understood her and smiled, "Stack the deck?"

"Maybe a little," she smiled back at him.

Several months passed, Kynn and Anna stood over an unconscious woman on a bed in a dark room.

"What's her name?" he said.

"Her name is Shmi Skywalker."

"You're sure she will not be harmed through the process?"

"Yes, she won't even know what happened, she'll be alright," Anna assured him. "Are you any good with names?"

He looked at her and said, "How about, Anakin?"

She smiled, "The mother shall discover the name and give it to him."
