The moment she awoke, her senses were penetrated by the unsettling feeling of wrongness.
"Where… where am I?" she asked herself aloud before her hand immediately flew to her throat.
She would be the first person to admit that she didn't talk much, but she knew her voice wasn't that high pitched.
Her heartbeat started to quicken as she observed her surroundings. The room she currently inhabited was small, so small she was hesitant to even call it a room. The strong scent of alcohol overtook most of it.
She wrinkled her nose and brought her hand forward to cover it, before letting out a tiny scream.
Her hands were small and her skin had a sickly tone to it. She covered her mouth as tears started to stream down her face.
She knew this wasn't her.
Her skin wasn't this pale and her hands weren't that small.
The problem was… no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't bring herself to remember who she was.
Her mind was a bottomless shell filled with memories that were consigned to oblivion.
She let out a shaky breath as she pulled herself out of the bed she had been in.
(Why was this body so skinny? She could feel her ribs poking through her shirt.)
She tiptoed out of the glorified broom closet and immediately felt her insides convulse.
A man was passed out on the couch downstairs, vomit dribbling out of his mouth. Beer cans littered the area he was in.
'Father,' her mind whispered causing her to shiver. Flashes of… something entered her mind.
(The man on the couch was screaming. A deranged looked entered his eyes as he raised his hand to strike. A thin, pallid woman with narrowed black eyes shrunk back, shielding her young skinny daughter from the monster-)
She shook her head and ran into the bathroom.
As soon as she entered she wretched all of her stomach contents into the toilet.
A sense of relief filled her as she wiped her mouth. She walked over to the sink and chanced a glance at the shattered mirror.
As soon as her eye caught the shattered mirror, she froze. Narrowed charcoal eyes glared back at her with an intensity that she had never seen before.
She raised her hand to her cheek. The reflection did the same. She jumped. So did the reflection.
She didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
An ensemble of memories came rushing back like a tidal wave. She let out a dry laugh as her mind overflowed with the new information.
Septima Eileen Snape. That was who she was now.
The last thing she saw was her reflection smirking at her as she lost consciousness.

Author's note: As you guys can see, I've started writing another Harry Potter fanfic. I still plan to work on Hiraeth but this Idea has been floating around my head for awhile. I got this idea after reading Addendum by Shanatical. It's a great fanfic, and if you have the chance you should definitely read it. The premise of this story is that a girl from our world is put into the role of Severus Snape, albeit a different gender-swapped version of him. I'll try not to make Septima a carbon copy of OC!Petunia but they might share some similarities. There isn't many fem!Snape fanfics out there, so I wanted to try writing my own. Please review and tell me what you think of it.
Questions I have for you Guys:
What do you think Snape being a female will change?
Is there anyone you would want me to pair Septima with later on?
P. S. I really hope you guys enjoyed this chapter.
