Dear Mariko,
I know it has been well over a month now since we departed in the Dragon Lands, but I've finally been able to find the time to write to you. I have been quite busy with my new life as you can imagine.
You had left by then, but the five of us have decided to set up a business together; at least for the duration of my self-discovery journey that is. We're calling ourselves the 'Chaotix Detective Agency' - please believe me when I say that it was not my idea to call it that at all, but yes, we're a team of detectives now. I assume that Vector had too much fun with our last case of business that he didn't want it to end. This, of course, then leads me to our job titles:
-Vector; our 'fearless leader'. It's self-proclaimed of course, but I wasn't about to challenge him for it – what would I have to gain from it anyway?
-Mighty; expert in criminal psychology (I personally believe it to be insensitive of Vector to give him that role with Mighty's background and all, but the armadillo appeared not to be phased at all by this. In fact he seemed more excited than anything)
-I'm the stealth operative; I gather intel, unseen, from within enemy territory. So not ALL my training's gone to waste at least.
This leaves Charmy and Ray as our junior detectives (Although Vector's also assigned Charmy as the 'Evidence Collector' – who would trust that kid with a high-intensity flash camera anyway?) Ray's quiet though, so I guess Vector just wants to see how he develops from here before giving him his own role.
Originally Vector wanted us to build ourselves a place in an open field somewhere, near a forest. As perfect as that may be, I had to advise Vector that this was obviously not the way to go about things (At least not at our current standing and budget). So we've rented an apartment. It's adequate – we had all placed our own donations towards it. It's big enough to hold us in and has everything we need. It's not much, but maybe if you decide to visit us you could make a bit more of it?
But enough about us - how are you? What's your condition after the battle – are you feeling better now? How's life at the clan now? New friends? New Aya stories? I'm already missing you guys; sparring over the koi pond, meditating under the sakura and, of course, watching Aya's bar fights. I hope that those guys have been able to forgive our recent events. Does anyone believe of my innocence yet? What about my mother? I have no idea how she'd be dealing with this.
I'm sorry, my first letter back to you shouldn't be as melancholic as I have made it, forgive me and please reply soon. You can send it to 3-d Treeville Way, Station Square, United Federation. The Chaotix HQ.
If you just send it through to the building itself though, our land-lady should bring it to us.
Hope to hear from you soon,
-Espio
